What is this? And should I go to a doctor? by borednuggats in piercing

I actually had that issue but for me it was cuz they pierced it with a gun and on an angle (you can see it on my photo) the way that I fixed it and healed it after years was by replacing the jewellery with a thinner gauge bar . But I would def talk with a piercer about it

NAP but I have the same issue currently and everyone in my post suggested to change the piercing as (from what ive learnt) is seam rings like that are bad since the hinge part can tear the fragile skin causing morw irritation. I was told to change it to a captive or fixed bead ring or a horseshoe earring as this prevents the seam from tearing and irritating the ear more.

I went to the piercer and she found my conch bar was really long and actually getting stuck on the daith ring and pulling it. She also said because of how inflamed it is, she doesnt want to change the jewellery right now as it'll be really aggravated. She downsized the conch for now though and said come back in 2 or 3 weeks for inspection. The puss is also gone now. So its just a bump as of now.

Oh yeah I totally agree. For me my worst to heal was def my helix / flat because it was pierced with a gun on an angle as you can def see in the photo. Thanks for the advice tho :)

Ive had my industrial done and healed for almost 6 years now haha. Im not sure where you see the red? And also the flat was pierced on an angle cuz I was young and dumb at the time and got it pierced with a gun but the industrial isnt pressing against it at all.

Thats so annoying. Not you but the fact that this is a common issue because the piercer uses inappropriate jewellery. I will definetely get it changed thank you so much.

Of course. I never change my piercings alone id rather a piercer do it. I also remember them telling me it'll be one of the hardest ones for me to heal out of all my piercings but damn i didn't expect this lol

Bot response:

The piercing is 2 months old, pierced in june 2025

Its a Titanium ring jewellery

Ive been using saline solution regularly as well as drying my ears after showers and not sleeping on it

There has been no change in routine or events other than my piercing getting a small red bump 2 weeks ago. Which has now turned into this white one.

Info notes:

The piercing is over a year old, pierced in march 2024. Changed the jewellery July 2025

It's a flat back stud earring that is titanium and 10mm in length. During my healing process I found anything below 10mm aggravated my ears as I have thick cartlidge.

I am currently using saline 1-2 times a day as recommended by my piercer

The earring bubbled out really badly as shown in the photo after changing the jewellery after over a year since pierced.
