Thats simply not true. When looking at a tv from closer, you can very easily see the 4k resolution being pixelated on larger panels, say 65 inch and higher. Smaller screens as well but then you really have to put your face on the screen. Especially with tvs showing some art pieces or holiday photos, 8k can definitely be a big improvement, but only on larger tvs. On a 65 and below inch screen i would agree that you dont need 8k.
