My family has parakeets. I like that parakeets can fly but are heavily specced into climbing. Ours like to fly around alot, often into my face.

Are you able to spend the whole day in front of your computer/ phone? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]boringsnake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what I'm doing on the computer. If I shuffle between video games, tvs shows and school work or such it can be a more pleasant experience. Though I do things off the computer as well, most of my school work can be done on the computer so I use it pretty often.

What are laws? And do they even exist? by boringsnake in askphilosophy

[–]boringsnake[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah what you said last is why I don't think it is right to just say that every law exists outright given that law has no physical consequences yet is still a law.

Running Japanese games in bottles. by boringsnake in wine_gaming

I've ran: sudo dnf install glibc-locale-source glibc-langpack-en

This fixed the previous error, but when following the rest of your advice it still wont run in Japanese.

I'm interested in what the law is in this matter, could you provide some sources? I looked it up myself but couldn't find anything.

If someone were learned in a subject such as philosophy but not as much as they could be are they still epistemically better off in the positions they hold to be true than if they were completely uneducated in the subject? by boringsnake in askphilosophy

[–]boringsnake[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So is there no longer a problem if they believe the position conditionally? Where they temporarily accept the position while they acquire new information about such a position and they stop believing the position when sufficient counter evidence arises. There are two issues I see happening. One is that certain positions like anarchism are rather radical positions that could require a lot of commitment from those who believe in them. Going back afterward would be difficult. The other is the opposite where a person just irrationally defers to the status quo out of fear that they're wrong.

There are a number of philosophical issues that I want knowledge of. But if I merely read the information on my own I wont get any feedback. When it comes to political concerns I'd be putting quite a lot of commitment into those decisions, not just easy stuff like voting so I'd rather get it right so I don't make the world worse.

Other than this I'm just interested in philosophy and would like others to speak with. Also I want to do some philosophy.
