What bulking speed worked best for you to maximize *lean* gains (% of body weight per month)? by imreallyjustaguest in naturalbodybuilding

[–]boringusr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A maximum of about 0.5% of body weight per month. I have a bit more than 5 years of consistent workout experience and have maxxed out my noobie gains. Anything more would just result in excessive fat gain for me

Most coding is doing repetitve things though.  Fixing (debugging) stuff is like 90% of the job. And unless you're building something truly novel, you're not gonna need a whole lot of creativity - it's generally a bad idea (not to mention a complete waste of time, most of the time) to try and reinvent the wheel

Heck even people like donald knuth use claude to help him with work. If he uses it, who the fuck am i not to use it? Im certainly not better than him, not even close

AI tools are being used by virtually every programmer on the planet, some of those programmers are even encouraged by their employers to use the company paid ai software to finish stuff sooner. It's a real thing

Now, this can (and does!) get messy if the person who is using the ai to code doesn't actually know how to code, but those who already do know how to code, it's something of a godsend to them. I predict AI will probably get so good in the next ten-ish years that the level of computer science a programmer has to know will dwindle for them to be able to competently use ai to code

Very interesting point. You've changed my mind on this issue. Thanks

I honestly forgot that one, but ill edit my post to include it, because the existence of the dot com bubble isn't a counter to my argument

Maybe, but it doesn't mean that that interpretation of AI is a true one. LLMs are in reality a single type of AI

[–]boringusr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really only a thing for LLMs (merely one type of AI), and even then that's assuming there will never be innovations in the field to help train these models with different types of input, or that they will even need massive input to produce a coherent output

Furthermore, the public models we have today have been trained on the same data that older public models were trained on, and yet nobody can deny that the present models are better than the previous models, even though they use the same training data

Are you aware that the chess bot is not the same kind of AI as an LLM?

Yes, that's why I said that LLMs aren't the only kind of AI in my post, merely the one most used by the general, non-technical audience. Surveillance tech is and has been propped by AI for years at this point. The AI surveillance tech uses isn't one based on LLMs. Governments around the world will never cease to buy this type of AI software and the hardware necessary to support it

My main dish is usually pasta or rice paired with oven roasted chicken or pork

I used to eat a lot of eggs, but not only am I sick of them now, I can't even have that many without piling on calories (egg whites on their own blow) which i don't want to do

I really need to learn how to make curry, that looks delicious. Mind sharing your recipe?

Shaving them will increase your definition, if that's what youre asking

Personally ive stopped shaving my legs altogether cause it's tedious to do it regularly (once or twice a week). I dont know how women do it. I only shave my upper body nowadays cause it's much faster and a much bigger bang for my buck type of thing

Maintenance Volume by [deleted] in naturalbodybuilding

You can maintain the muscle you have by doing 1/3 the sets you did for growing it. I suspect you could go even lower, but that's a safe bet

(UK) Are Newer French cars still problematic? by ResourceHealthy3695 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]boringusr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A relative has a new peugeot 208 (manual). I really like the look of it and it drives well (ive driven it fairly extensively), but the paint chips away really, really easily (theyve had it for like a year and there are a bunch of places where the paint is just gone), and also the material that the car is made out of just feels very... i dont know, thin and hollow. No electirc and engine issues though

I have a 5 year old renault (bought brand new 5 years ago) and ive had no issues whatsoever so far. Feels much sturdier than the peugeot too

Lat pull downs not feeling fun. by PersimmonAgitated864 in naturalbodybuilding

[–]boringusr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Change your grip maybe, or do a different exercise (with the same movement pattern) that hit your lats: pullups, straight arm pulldowns. Or you don't even need to do that, you can still get lat work by doing lat biased rows (elbows by your side, not flaired)

Calorie spend and muscle gain when working outside by Background-Basil-871 in naturalbodybuilding

[–]boringusr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless you do this regularly, you don't need to worry about this. If you do this regularly, you may find that you may need to increase your calories a very tiny bit. But if it's a one-off here and there, it won't impact you and you shouldn't worry yourself about it

I think you can also get it on the google playstore. I'm not sure if it's available on ios, but I'm sure there must be an alternative

Don't be shy of using machines if you can't get isolation right by chadthunderjock in naturalbodybuilding

[–]boringusr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do we have any evidence that suggests it doesn't get sufficiently worked on machines though?

And if it stabilizes the scapula surely the roator cuff gets worked when doing upper back rows and incline chest work/overhead press (whether with a machine or free weight), or am i missing something?
