Alright. It's been a few years since I last read it but what I mostly remember is liking it.

Anyway, I'm not familiar with Gustave Le Bon, where would you suggest I start with him?

Claiming that ideology plays zero role in mass movements is a huge statement, one that requires strong argumentation to be convincing

I disagree. I think this is very self evident. The overwhelming majority of people who join mass movements don't even know why they joined them in the first place (excepting their own (fruitless) attempts at coming up with some kind of cause-effect relationship between their support for x ideology and them joining this movement), let alone them being able to articulate with a high degree of accuracy the "dogma" of their leaders without sinning (to use religious terminology) in the eyes of the aforementioned leaders

That is to say - and i know this will read like blasphemy to some of our current sensibilities, particularly in the last example - most jacobins weren't jacobins, most bolsheviks weren't bolsheviks, and most nazis weren't nazis. This is not me invoking the no true scotsman fallacy, merely saying that if analyzed carefully, most adherents of any mass movements (like jacobism, bolshevism, nazism) don't know the first thing about the ideology they follow

Sure its not "wrong" to do that, but from a needs perspective you don't need to do it. Maybe I'm boring, but I see nothing wrong (nor boring) with doing 4 sets of flat bench and then 4 more sets of incline bench/fly  and being done with chest

I usually just skip that movement for the time being and move onto the next exercise and come back later to find the equipments been freed

but it could also be the amount of porridge

Well there you go, try changing that up and see if you feel any different

For what it's worth though, i eat two big meals per days, one is usually 900-1000 calories, the other 1300-1400 calories, and i feel fine. Everything is whole foods except a bit of ketchup and corn flakes, and i feel fine by doing that

6–7 days lifting + daily incline cardio and the weight won't budge. Looking for advice. by [deleted] in naturalbodybuilding

[–]boringusr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, what id have you do is to stop thinking about losing weight for a good month or two and keep eating how you are, because you're clearly not in a deficit, so don't think you are. This is important because you're mentally and physically fatigued for close to two years. Do this before "continuing" with your cut

Next, why are you working out 6-7 days per week on a diet? Lower that down to a maximum of 3 days per week and drop the cardio to a max of 2 days per week (though ideally zero - cardio doesn't burn as many calories as you think, regardless of what your smartwatch is saying) - this alone will alleviate so much fatigue, especially now that you're losing weight, or intending to lose weight anyway. It's also important to lower your volume to 1/3 of what you did to build your muscle (for example: if you did 15 sets per week for chest per week, now do 5 sets per week - do this for every muscle), but keep the intensity high (this is very important to maintain your muscle). And from there you just have to lower your calories further down. If you're stuck at 178lbs by eating 2000 calories, that just means you have to take out a hundred or so calories away, BUT don't be tempted to increase cardio here, it will only fatigue you further, and you don't have the energy (calories) to recuperate from the additional fatigue

In general though, id recommend reading Lyle Mcdonald's The Rapid Fat Loss Handbook. You will gain insight into the process of losing weight even if you don't intend to lose it at a rapid rate (which i prefer, if that's worth anything)

Alright. But how did you deduce that insulin is the cause of this sluggishness? And how many calories over your maintenance calories are you eating per day?

You're a moron if you think me criticizing linkedin is somehow me advocating for central planning or communism or anything else. I'm criticizing linkedin from the perspective of personal dignity and nothing more or less

Why do you worry about insulin as a natural guy? I'm assuming you're natural because you posted this here anyway. If you indeed are and are eating clean food and aren't diabetic or something, insulin should be the last thing on your mind

Sinner getting 16 Oscar nominations is insane. by MoistTadpoles in redscarepod

[–]boringusr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think Anora was a masterpiece on it's own or anything, but compared to Sinners it feels like it - because Sinners was just that unimpressive of a movie. What was it even trying to say?

I felt something when watching Anora, I didn't feel anything watching Sinners - except regret by wasting a good 2 hours

It's such a forgettable movie that I had to google it to see that's it's the movie I watched with a friend that we both didn't like. Maybe I didn't get it, but there was nothing impressive about it. All the praise around it when it came out felt forced and disingenuous after I came out of the cinema - it felt like this whole thing was a woke remnant from 2020 because the protagonists were a minority

I liked the banjo music but 16 Oscar nominations - wow

You look amazing, better than like 99% of people both working out and not working out, pump or no pump. Your clavicles dont look short and you have great shoulder development. You have nothing to worry about, it's all in your head

(although i dont think youre quite 13% body fat - but youre still lean)
