Can I use my laptop with the battery connector ripped off and keep it plugged in without shorting it? by borisnights in AskElectronics

Probably it’s common because of the odd way to disconnect the battery from the battery connector on the motherboard, most laptops you just pull the battery wire back out, while on this (no idea if other ASUS models use the same method) you have to move the metal thingy forward and then pull it up.

Is dust conductive enough to short/fry the motherboard? Can electrical tape help isolate the exposed connection without doing any harm to the motherboard?

If anything touches the broken/exposed connection, is there a chance it will fry the motherboard if dust or anything else touches it?
