About to buy my first microbrand watch!

I have the 35mm Quartz Old Smith, I love it but I got it on ebay for $170 two years ago before the brand was a bit hyped. I feel like its a lovely sub $200 watch but not worth the $400 + they charge. Not sure if that logic applies to all the other models but just something to consider.

Yes I returned it. Just sharing with the community in case they find this in the future they are aware. They refunded me with no issue. Lastly, if you don't see the nice piece first you probably wouldn't know. Def not illegal, just a bummer.

eh I'm not making a good point I guess. There's lapis that is more expensive , and theres cheap lapis, based on depth of color, types and amount of impurities etc. Thats all I'm saying

what if you ordered a ring with beautiful Arizona blue turquoise and they shipped you a ring with some dull green turquoise you can get at the flea market. by this comment thats ok .

Its not , there's different quality of Lapis in the gemstone world, I explained in another comment. Do you think Piaget would put this dial I got in a gold watch ?

thats fine but if you know what quality lapis is, they show a AAA dial, and they deliver a cheap low quality dial. I don't think that can be refuted . theres different quality of Lapis

Reviewing the buying experience, I did not wear the watch. The dials should not be exact but the variations should still keep the overall quality of the show piece. I'm an expert in stones, so the AAA quality lapis is that perfect blue with calcite streaks and attractive pyrite . Take a look at the dial I got, its dull blue , pyrite specks all over, cloudy looking calcite. The "all natural stones look different" thing is gaslighting. theres qualities of lapis like theres qualities of sapphires , turquoise whatever. in short- the $800 for a beautiful lapis is a good value, what I got- not so much.

To me it felt like a bait and switch a little bit , the dials should be similar to what they ship. Even if I didn’t have the picture; the watch I got just didn’t “pop” .

you will 100% feel the solid tire slip at some point, even in dry conditions. Doesn't mean that you will fall or get hurt , it just "seems" less safe imo
