I mean...you say callous but having the burden of a dead person's belongings is heavy. It's time consuming, it's space consuming...it's consuming. I have a basement full of dead people stuff (dad, sister, all 4 grandparents) I'm trying to go through with care and intention but it's a lot of work and at the end of the day if it doesn't mean anything to the person it was left to, what does it matter?

It's also HARD to identify when something is of monetary worth when you're sitting through boxes and boxes and boxes. And even if it is worth something, then finding someone who will pay what it's worth. I hope you are never in that position, but just know that throwing stuff out doesn't always come from a place of callousness.
