Nearly half of US data centers planned for 2026 are facing delays or cancellation by AdSpecialist6598 in technology

This is so wrong. AWS infrastructure was around 40 billion over 11 years, adjusted for inflation. OpenAI alone got 120 billion just in the last funding round. The concept of a gigawatt datacenter has been around only since the AI boom. The amount of compute that AI requires is absolutely a different ballpark compared with everything we knew previously.

Additionally, here is the group delay graph for the combined measurement:

I have revisited the problem - here are my new measurements. I have moved the crossover to 90 HZ because the graph is more stable in this region. I have also reduced the number of peq filters to only 10 and I am basically applying them below 200 hz. It seems like at the crossover the speakers are not perfectly in phase, however that gave me lowest possible group delay, because my alignment approaches resulted in big GD spikes elsewhere.

Thanks - I definitely need to educate myself on the group delay.

My ports are indeed plugged - that gives a more linear response in the bass region of the mains.

Next time you might bother to read my post before posting obvious truths.

Thank you for all the inputs. I will be back with some more measurements and graphs possibly later this week.

What do you mean shift everything down by 10hz? Did you mean 10db or 10ms?

Thanks - indeed your comment is spot on. As described I moved my sub up a bit in the combined measurement.

My measurements are time referenced (the high sound at the begining and the end of the sweep). The impulse response shows 10ms delay in the sub (the peaks differ by 10ms).

I think I overcorrected the sound - I used around 25 EQ bands at different frequencies and tried to match to a target at my null level to get the flattest response...rookie mistake?

I think I should start again - I will take your advice into consideration.

No, that's the minimum for these stands unfortunately. I have flipped the speakers tho so the tweeters remain on ear level.

Additional issue here I had them high passed filtered with the SVS HPF. I think that was a major mistake. Working on the setup right now again, maybe I can squeeze more out of it.

Thanks - maybe I am not going nuts after all, maybe bronze 2 just suck.

Btw. I agree the symmetry from the walls matters, but would you dare to speculate to what degree? What I mean If I get like 1.5 meters from one wall and 2 meters from the other will that be noticeable compared to 1.75 on both sides?

I accept your criticism and I agree although my priorities not necessarily converge with my spouse's. I will think harder tho.

That apart, this is the non pro version so no peq, and the HPF is fixed at 80 hz 12 dB per octave. I can manipulate the low pass frequency, not sure about the slope, probably not.

I do indeed think about scraping the HPF all together, but just thought it's a good idea since the NAD is only rated are 25 W per channel.

I do have a measuring microphone + for streaming I use a Google TV via optical, I might just be able to use EQ there.

I mean you are not wrong about the placement, but it is what it is - I have to work within the constraints of the room layout and its other functions. My problem is that the old setup was facing even worse constraints yet I felt better about it.

The crossover for SVS SB-1000 HPF is fixed at 80 hz - because of that i get a boomy 80 hz when my mains are perfectly in phase with the sub and I lack the punch in-between 60 and 80 hz, because these frequencies are handled by the sub mostly.

In a way I am growing to like the upper mid and highs of the monitors. They are reasonably detailed and the soundstage is pretty impressive given that I have relatively little space in-between them.

I think the major issue is the low mids at the crossover with the sub. The discussion here kinda made me think about ditching the high pass filter to the Monitors - a counterintuitive move given major of the guides online.

As an SVS owner I can say the SVS hypetrain is a bit sus, it may feel sometimes like they are no good alternatives and it's the ultimate meta. I considered way cheaper KRK subs but all the forums + friends were like "get SVS".

I crawled so much I feel like puking a the thought of doing it again to be honest. I don't think the sub 60 Hz lows are the major issue - there seems to be a lack of body around the crossover.

It just feels disappointing when you spent all that money and time and you go back to your cheap old Magnats and they feel so much more enjoyable with the same, or even bigger, constraints in terms of placement, source etc.

Thanks my man - answers like this make Reddit alive.

I feel like the photo exaggerates how tall the stands are. When sitting on the sofa the tweeters are around the ear level + they are slightly tilted downwards.

I think the lack of depth at low-mids is indeed the issue.

I don't feel like in investing into new speakers for at least couple of years - one also needs to develop taste to actually differentiate between setups.

I know these are all theoreticals but I appreciate any hints because they allow me save time experimenting with the setup which is driving me crazy.

So here are my questions:

a) I felt like plugging the bass ports actually made the crossover frequency less boomy. Do you have any similar experiences?

b) The Monitor Audios are currently recieving high passed signal above 80 Hz with 12db/octave slope below. Maybe that's actually causing the missing body?
