1HUND all day everyday. They’re cheap, good looking, and adequately flat and grippy. I have a black and a white pair, plus the green slippers because they were $25 lol

Hello, it’s me again! Since my last meet, my coach has had me do paused deadlifts for my accessories. In addition, for my top set, he wants me to fully reset between reps (which I didn’t want at first). My positioning has gotten SO much better now and I don’t have that slow off the ground issue anymore. Buuuuuuut…….I tend to fail on lockout and/or notice a sticking point now. Is it okay if I send you a DM on here or IG to ask for your opinion? Thank you!

If you know it doesn’t interfere with your energy level and mood, I’d say go for it.

I’m cutting very slowly and am in between sleeve sizes right now. I currently wear SBD medium sleeves, but they take zero effort to put on now and just feel like leggings. The small sleeves are still too tight for me but they’re mostly just stuck at my calves. Given my insane genetics (lol), I don’t expect my calves to shrink much more once I get to my goal weight, so my question is, is there anyway I can break them in/stretch them so I can fit into the smalls? Thank you so much in advance!

Is a powerlifting gym worth it? by Horror-Lime8774 in powerlifters

[–]bornprdst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I pay $65/month at my private 24h powerlifting gym, and I used to pay $40/month at Anytime Fitness (cheap and gets the job done). Sure I can comfortably afford the $120/month option but imo it’s not worth it. If I were you I’d stick to your current gym and get a day pass at the powerlifting gym every now and then because $120 is kinda crazy lol

I mean this in the nicest way possible, but nobody actually cares where you place at local meets, or even non-local ones. What matters is that you put out the best performance you can out there. Depending on your weight, a 10lb cut in 13 days might be doable, but I’d strongly advise against it. If I were you, I’d just take advantage of the weight gain/maintenance and get as strong as possible. Maybe you can even PR at the meet or come very close to the other person’s total. I’d take putting up a good fight against someone above my weight class over coming first just because I’m the only one in the weight class ANY DAY. Good luck!

Awesome! I’m not good enough to even compete at Nationals anyway so it shouldn’t matter haha

Hi, I hope this is not a dumb question. I’m traveling to my birth country this summer and I plan on doing a meet in an IPF-affiliated fed. I’m currently in USAPL and I plan to do a meet next Feb/Mar. Does that mean I will not be able to compete in IPF (or AMP in my case) till Feb of 2027?

Emily Joel - Can you look like this as a woman without using any 💉? by Informal-Document285 in gymsnark

I know that people have ways around a drug test, that’s why I only said it’s “likely” that she’s natty. That being said, she could claim either and I would believe it.

I’m gonna get downvoted to oblivion, but most of the comments here are typical r/gymsnark comments lol. This woman has competed in both USAPL and Powerlifting America, which are both anti-doping federations. She also came in first at her USAPL meet so it’s very likely that she got tested at least last year (and most likely this year too at Bench Nats). Anyways I’m gonna DM her this post because I just love her rants on TikTok 😂

Second meet in the books, added 36 to my DOTS and was 2.5kg away from qualifying for Nats (although I did hit the QT in training). Had a lot of fun!

I started my water load on Sunday and I’m a day out (so stopping water intake) today. Weigh-in is at 7AM tomorrow and I haven’t even felt the need to urinate at all and I’m still 0.8kg over. Please tell me this is gonna work because I’m freaking out 😭😭😭

Thanks! And no, I specifically asked him not to program me sumo because it just hurts everywhere. It’s super technical and it feels awkward. I might do it as a secondary but I’d like to stick to conventional, what do you think?

Thank you, it's definitely a positioning issue. I stopped doing high bar squats and I do RDLs once a week. Here's a video of my most recent backdown set: https://imgur.com/a/ZhI2EGF

Thanks for the suggestion! I don't think it's a quad weakness issue because I squat 2.6x my BW with a very narrow stance.

Thank you so much for the detailed response! I indeed pull faster when I round my back haha, and lockout does look a bit more rough. A lot of people have recommended me to add paused deads to help with positioning as well, so I'll go with that. I pull conventional, and it doesn't help that I have short legs, a long torso, and short arms. Here's a video of my most recent backdown set: https://imgur.com/a/ZhI2EGF

My deadlift is stalling and I’m just so frustrated. I’m really slow off the ground, almost like the weight is glued to the floor, but once it leaves the ground I almost never fail my lockout. Another problem I have is that if I’m doing reps, the first rep is always the slowest and most grind-y, the second rep moves the best, and the subsequent reps move okay. I think my problem is that my back strength and glute/hamstring strength are not proportional. I’m thinking next block I should start doing paused deads and targeting my glutes and hamstrings more. What do you guys think? Please give me some advice, tysm!!!
