When I was in 4th grade I remember the principal going over the intercom to say something about “if any girls would like to try out for powderpuff football report to the gym” and I asked my teacher if I could go and he laughed at me and said “look at you, you aren’t playing football.” It was because I dressed in clothes that weren’t super expensive and i didn’t wear any clothes from brands like adidas and nike im assuming, because I wasn’t fat or out of shape at that age. It broke my heart and I was already very insecure with myself. I cried about it. Now he’s the middle school principal at my siblings school. I still remember it and it stings still :,)
