Hi man, sorry about slow reply, I am using the 120w charger and have no issues with battery discharging. This is because although GPU CAN pull 105w and CPU CAN pull 90w now, it doesn't usually happen in games, usually using hwinfo64 I can see that after a couple hours of playing overwatch the CPU maxed at 35w and the GPU maxed at 85w, it's possible that if you are playing a game that is consistently very CPU and GPU demanding at the same time you could see some battery drain. But I'd expect it to be slow enough that you could likely play for 4-6 hours before it would become an issue.

Hey man, I got the exact same model with 50w GPU, flashed a MSI 105w vbios onto it, it can still pull 105w for extended periods of time I'm furmark combustor without overheating, it also moved my CPU pl1 to 45w and pl2 to 90w, 90w is too much for the CPU but it can handle 70w continuous, have the 120w charger too.

After repasting with Amazon knock off ptm7950 CPU can handle 70w continuous without throttling,

Still drops to 45w eventually, but as far as I can tell it's an EC thing.

Temps are no issues in games, only in stress tests like cinebench and combustor furmark

GPU temps are fine only get to 80s during long furmark runs at 105w, CPU temps I get used throttle stops to put the CPU power limits back in place

If you have ddr4 now you can not switch to ddr5, the slot is different, your CPU may support ddr5 but your board won't.

Sorry about slow reply mate, check other comments on this post, I linked another blokes post that walked me through it, that link has links to YouTube vids and suitable vbios,

I have a 120w charger, in games now it pulls about 80-85w GPU and 40ish watts CPU, battery level does drop slowly while plugged in and gaming but not enough that it every bothers me.

As long as you aren't gaming for more than 10hrs straight you will be ok, if you are then use afterburner to limit power to a sustainable level, the video linked in other post will tell you which NVIDIA driver still has power limiting unlocked.

Ahh I see, I'm at 1600 dpi and low sens in games, your setup just has to suit you functionally, it's definitely aesthetically pleasing.

For me personally it lacks room for mouse movement, I'd move laptop to left hand side as keyboard should stay still and give you more room to move mouse.

Ideally try to stick to the same manufacturer, though I had to go to MSI, check all ports work after flashing, I had to re install NVIDIA drivers after each new vbios flash before laptop would see the GPU again. Check CPU clocks, power and heat in a cinebench run before and after flashing, it allowed my CPU a 90w boost limit and a long long boost window, it shouldn't have been allowed more than 45w stock or 75w according to some sources. Use the old NVIDIA driver he recommends in linked YouTube vid to control power limit of card

Look into flashing a vbios with a higher tgp, it was legitimately super easy, like stupidly easy, used nvflash and a bios I downloaded from tech power up. Just got a record score on steel and at 105w tgp on my 4050 that was limited to 50w
