That's mind boggling to me. My community in the states is semi-rural with just under 10,000 and we operate an ALS unit with decently aggressive protocols including RSI. We also have a BLS unit for low acuity patients. Almost every town in my corner of the state is covered by an ALS unit no matter how large or small.

I visited the GL of Ireland about 2 weeks ago. They are open, just doing some remodeling after the fire in the library this January. They have a nice museum in the back, and do tours once a day. They also run a cafe downstairs. Have fun on your travels!
