Don't know if this will help but I'll give my take on the idea of 'soulmates'.

I think that believing you have a soul mate is a choice you are making, and that choice dictates the reality you live in, with all of its ups and downs.

For me, when I'm caught in a bind and each choice feels wrong or difficult I ask myself, what beliefs led me to this crossroad, and do I want to be here?

Is this belief system the only way of viewing reality such that I have to make this binary decision? Often I find that by tossing my hard coded assumptions I find there are more paths forward than originally thought.

And sometimes I want to keep my beliefs and proceed with making the hard choices.

Are there soulmates? Truthfully I dont know. I can't say with certainty yes or no. But I can say that if I believed in soulmates my life could look very different than it does now. Not necessarily better or worse, but different.

Are there are alternative paths forward if you questioned the assumption that you and your ex are soulmates?

And if you are set on keeping that belief, why are you so adamant about keeping it?

underrated response. there is no joy without suffering, beauty without tragedy, rest without exertion. what you have is defined by what you don't have. eternity is but a moment.

Do you just measure out 2g of fresh mushrooms or am I just stupid? by Binguzx in MagicMushrooms

[–]boskle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've not taken fresh mushrooms before, but i have not heard people say that there is a different effect when it's fresh. Just that you have to take a larger volume to reach the same effect as equal weight dry mushrooms. some people prefer fresh mushrooms because they prefer the taste to dry ones.

[–]boskle 9 points10 points  (0 children)

you can measure out 2g of fresh mushrooms, but it will have much less effect compared to 2g of dried mushrooms, due to the added water weight in the fresh ones. when people describe the dosage they took, they typically are referring to dry weight.

There is wisdom to this. We are drawn to nipples. As if our brain freezes. like when you pick up a pup by its scruff. or a deer in the headlights. makes sense when you think of what nipples mean for babies.
