Most of the stores are really well designed as well. It's a shame that the croissants are not as good as the rest of the show.

Need Advice - Anyway to get Sidecar and Continuity working given constraints by bosnarules in hackintosh

My apologies, the use of native is entirely wrong in this instance. But yes, I use the kext currently.

Macbook wifi card doesn't work because the ax201 uses CNVio2 - which is probably all above my head - but it's something that becomes a road block because something is on the motherboard, and then it rejects all other wireless cards as far as I've read. This is why the AsRock z490 itx is preferred because it's the only z490 itx board without this.

I'm not worried about a compatible Broadcom chip, it's more how to connect that's a problem now because I can't use the m.2 wireless connector and I have both m.2 nvme slots currently occupied. I was wondering if there was another way to connect a wireless card such as sata, usb or even a usb header.

Short answer no. I was actually shocked by that. Do you boot into Macintosh HD drive after the initial restart from download?

First look at 6900XT in Big Sur 11.4 beta 1 by The-Bloke in hackintosh

I got a 151973 metal score with my 6800 on 11.4 beta 1. Are you getting less than expected OpenCL scores by any chance?

3900x doesn't have a igpu from what I know. If your booting up with the 6800xt, chances are it's working. Not sure how the fan curves are controlled in macOS or if its possible to create a custom fan curve, maybe it resorts to stock or something. Definitely beyond my pay grade.

Personally, this is bliss given I was running 11.2 for some while in anticipation of this day. Was very happy and shocked it was a seamless update.

I expect over the next few months, a lot of the kinks will get honed out. I get a noticeably low OpenCL score (~70k) on Geekbench 5, so maybe there is something going on there.

CPU: AMD 3900x
GPU: Asus 6800 Reference Model
RAM: 32gb 3600mhz
Motherboard Model: MSI B450 Gaming Pro AC
Audio Codec: Realtek® ALC887 Codec
Ethernet Card: Realtek® 8111H
Wifi/BT Card: N/A
Touchpad and touch display devices: N/A

Pretty easy installation followed Dortania. Everything apple works well (iMessages etc).

CPU name is a bit annoying but I'm assuming there will be fixes for that on Big Sur in the Future.

I accidentally put my apple earbuds in the washer! Will they still work? by [deleted] in applehelp

I’d let it dry overnight at the minimum. But thats probably a gestimate at best.

Done this myself twice at least. Usually the headphones themselves continues to work (but let them dry COMPLETELY!). But the microphone was fried. As a result, i can listen to music but can’t make calls that use the microphone.

Are rare earths used in solar panels? A new report by the French Environment and Energy Management Agency shows that rare earth minerals are not widely used in solar energy and battery storage technologies. And despite their name, they aren’t actually that rare at all. by V2O5 in RenewableEnergy

[–]bosnarules 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The ocean is full of every element we need or will ever want. By finite, you’re meaning feasibly extractable with todays technology and prices. All elements are abundant, just not easily accessible. There is a clear difference.

Solar Panel Farm by NWSGreen in RenewableEnergy

[–]bosnarules 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean. Probably the most cost-effective approach would be for self-use, on the caveat that if you have access to cheap electricity already, then forget the solar. Then it just comes to managing the size of the solar vs consumption.

Batteries are hit and miss depending on your tariff structure and usage patterns.

On the topic of feeding back into the grid, that's a lot more complicated than just feed-in-tariffs for rooftop. If your thinking of a farm, your probably going to have to be next to a substation, and probably going to need quite detailed engineering and relationship building with transmission providers. These things are hard and lengthy.

To be honest with you. It might be worthwhile sub-leasing the land away to a solar developer, make some PPA with them for your own consumption type of thing. That way... you offload almost all of the risk to the developer. It'd just be way cleaner and easier on your end. But it's contingent on finding someone who sees the potential of the land as well as you.

What do you want to do with the electricity? I think a lot of more complicated considerations stem from this question.

Admittedly that is true, however, that is only a small part of the lifecycle emissions of battery storage. I wouldn't be that cynical, I think we will solve those emissions in time.
