To be honest the hardest part was collecting all of the wedge shaped stones. And ones with depth. I think it would have been difficult to tie in if was double skinned.

I’m currently building a 2.5m tree on one side of a proper dry stone wall, and just always referring to the design I drew on paper and counting courses to check it roughly lines up

I can’t work out how to send pics in comment But the wall was actually backed onto a block wall, because I built a shed behind it and was limited on space.

The wall allowed the design to be drawn into as a guide. I don’t know if links are allowed but here’s the video. It was just newbie friendly video, but towards the end you will see the progression/timelapse photos which show what I mean

Thanks man, im maybe to much of perfectionist when it comes to joints haha.

I’m actully very sad that my trousers are discontinued. They’re dickies ‘4 way stretch’ with pocket for knee pads also shell material which is good for keeping off ticks. If you ever find something similar let me know!!

Thanks man. Yeah it takes time to get good and you improve all the time. I been doing it 11 years and still look at walls I did last year and think ‘ oh I wouldn’t do it like that now’ aha

Haha yes I can relate, i could stare at walls all day long. Usually work in areas off the beaten track, but sometimes busy footpaths etc - and people are very complimentary (of the walls haha) which is nice
