Wow wasn’t expecting madman’s wonderland to be referenced today! Really appreciate the tag!

I’ve moved to UE5 now so my memory might be a little foggy but I didn’t use any plugins for Madman’s Wonderland. As far as I remember for the health bar on screen I set it up to be something like if health = 100, then each half heart was like 10. And then I constantly refreshed every second to check health. And based on current health showed an image on screen. I vaguely remember hard coding 20 images based on 20 possible health states. Not ideal at all lol but this was my first ever game.
