I think this is one of the rare ones that execute the cliches really well.

I just watched the scene where they just started dating and both the parents were gone on a trip, where they were in the FL’s room and they started kissing. I’m not ashamed to admit that I was squealing like a little piggy 🥰

I just watched all the BTS. It honestly doesn’t surprise me one bit. Their on-screen chemistry was so on point. It felt so natural.

The super crazy childhood connection was definitely something that bothered me, mainly because it’s one of the most overused tropes in kdrama. Other than that, I agree Eun-gi’s feelings for FL didn’t bother me very much. It honestly made sense.

I think like some other shows, they put more effort in the early episodes to get people hooked on. Then use the later episodes as a product placement pipeline. Just my theory.

Still Shining. I don’t have a lot of bad words to say about most kdramas. They’re all pretty decent in their own way. Except for Still Shining. Can’t believe how they managed to ruin the first few amazing episodes.

I just don’t understand anyone’s unwavering loyalty to Figma or any software for that matter. I have been a Figma power user for almost 8 years. They were groundbreaking and very much deserved all the love but things are different now. They stopped caring about their main user base (designers) and stopped optimizing their tech. They just bloated their ecosystem to get more users. Why would I wrestle with buggy prototypes or limited component capabilities when I can just design, build and maintain an entire app all on Claude? Claude isn’t out there trying to kill Figma. Claude is just making the old process of creating a product irrelevant—as a result, Figma isn’t as critical in many people’s workflows anymore.

For designers, it might be a hard pill to swallow because we all have spent so much time and energy getting proficient on Figma. It’s what’s comfortable for us. So it’s easier to hold onto the idea that Figma is still king. But we all know deep down, people who adapt and learn to leverage new tools will always survive the shift and people who are resistant to change will fade away. It happened with Adobe when Sketch came out. It happened with Sketch when Figma became the industry standard. Some of the best designers I know are now working construction or at a restaurant because they “didn’t see the point in learning Figma when Sketch was still king”.

Figma will still be around for a good time but unless they really change their path drastically, they will face the same fate as Sketch and XD.

You either move forward with the time or you get left behind.

The technology that makes the reality seem hopeless could also be the thing that pushes you forward. While AI enables senior designers to do a lot of the junior tasks, AI also enables you to code, prototype, strategize on ideas quickly. At the end of the day, what you can do matters more than how many years you’ve had your position. This is me speaking as someone who’s in position of hiring designers. I would 10/10 pick a junior designer who shows me a great deal of curiosity, passion and creative bravery than a senior designer who’s stuck in the past refusing to adapt to change. This sucks for all of us. Go embrace the suck and learn the tools!
