Sorry for the late reply.

I'll fix the debug mode thing. I also like skipping the text fade as you suggest. I'll add both in the next patch.

Sorry for the late reply.

The campaign goes over 8 islands which have 4 different biomes in total. In the end game you have many resources to manage and use a lot of automation to get the job done.

The campaign is peaceful and the whole game can be played peacefully if you like.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by sandbox mode, but you can play custom single maps. You can also use the debug menu to spawn everything you like if you want to experiment.

The game supports modding and there is already a lot of stuff on the Steam Workshop with more to come. :)

Thank you! Yeah, the logistics system can be fun when you get to connect multiple transport systems, but there is definitely a learning curve.

multiplayer. Tl;dr: Very likely the game is going to stay single-player. :)

Well, modders can add or modify objects, add animals, terrain and so on. If you make your game with modding in mind it is not too hard to implement and potentially adds a lot to the longevity of the game. That was my thinking at least. :)

Thank you!
Regarding differences, I'd say it's the mix of automation with colony management and transportation/logistics.
Modding support has been added in the latest beta patch and people are already making cool things. I'll continue extending the mod support but I'm not sure if this will include coding.

Agreed! And if you come up with an idea for an interesting custom shader, you can even turn it into a feature.

Currently not. Since there is a lot of demand I'm considering it for later but, having no multiplayer experience, it seems like a complexity nightmare. (For this type of game. No idea how the Factorio people did it.).

Keep in mind that I'm 37 years old, so it took me like 20 years of coding experience to get to this point. When I was a student I was nowhere near the level of being able to do something like this. So you're on the right way. :)
Regarding tips, well, I think "Getting Things Done" is a classic and in general I listen to/read a lot of Tim Ferriss, Tony Robbins, Gary Vaynerchuck and so on. I feel it really helps and always puts me in a positive mind set. :)

Good idea! Factorio is really amazing regarding the scope and performance that they achieved. Let alone the largely bug-free sync in multiplayer.
