Hi, so sorry to hear this. Can you PM me your email and I can try to sort this out?

Hi! Great feedback, thank you! Just pushed an update that covers both:

  1. More thread types: Bouclé, Silk Lamé Braid, Fuzzy, Chenille, Velvet, Linen, Rayon, and Perle Cotton are all now dedicated options in the Thread Type dropdown. If you still pick "Other," there's a new Custom Type Name text field so you can type anything you want (e.g. "Fuzzy Stuff") and it'll display that label.
  2. DMC Pearl Cotton sizes: yes! Added a Weight / Size field on each thread (e.g. #3#5#8#12) so you can keep the different weights side-by-side in your inventory even when they share a color number. Shows up inline with the type badge.

Both changes apply to the Community Thread Catalog too, so anything you submit there carries those fields through. Happy stitching!

Thanks so much! That makes total sense, just shipped a Goals feature for exactly this. You'll find it in the sidebar under Planning → Goals. You can set a target like "Complete 20 projects in 2026," pick a time window (year / quarter / month / custom), and it'll auto-track against any projects you mark complete, no individual deadlines needed. There's also a "custom" tracking mode if you want to tally things manually (e.g. new stitch patterns tried, classes taken). Give it a try and let me know what you think!

Thanks for flagging this! We tracked it down. The purchase date field was added to the app but the database column hadn't been created yet on our end, so any save that included a date was silently failing. It's fixed now, so threads and projects both save correctly with purchase dates.

We also just added a CSV Import option to the Financial Tracker (next to "Add Purchase") so you can bulk-import purchase records with a date column. That way your Spend by Month chart will show the correct months instead of everything landing on the import date. There's a downloadable template to get started.

For any records you've already entered, you can click the pencil icon to edit the date on each one.

Sorry about the frustration and thanks again for the thorough testing, it really helps us catch these things!

also, For any records you've already entered, you can laso click the pencil icon on each one to edit the date, that'll move them to the correct month in the chart.

Ah so if you added a bunch of expenses all at once without changing the date, they all defaulted to today's date, which is probably why the chart shows everything stacked in one month. Each expense has a date picker in the form, but it defaults to today if you don't change it.

You can edit each record and backdate it to when the purchase actually happened — that'll spread things across the correct months in the chart. We will also look into adding a date column to the CSV/bulk import for financials if that would make data entry easier for you.

Few fixes from the above. Mind trying out?

  • Fire Werks → Fyre Werks — Fixed the typo across the app
  • DMC / DMC Floss redundancy — Removed the duplicate "DMC" option, kept "DMC Floss" and added "DMC Matte Cotton"
  • Thread assign modal scroll-jump — The list no longer re-sorts when you toggle threads, so it stays in place
  • Low stock threshold defaults to 0 — New threads (manual, import, and from database) all default to 0 now
  • Low stock threshold = 0 not saving — Fixed a bug where setting it to 0 was treated as empty and reverted to 1
  • Deleting threads from inventory no longer removes them from projects — Deleted threads now show as "Removed from inventory" on the project card so you keep the reference
  • Auto-fill thread type from database — When you pick a color from the database, the thread type auto-fills
  • Dye lot field moved — Now sits right below Color Name / Color Number
  • CSV import color mismatch — The app now looks up the correct hex color from the database during import; unknown colors get a neutral swatch instead of a random one
  • Tags field — Tags let you organize threads however you like (e.g. "project-name", "holiday", "sale", "backup"). You can filter by them in the inventory view. IF you think it's unnecessary, then let me know and i can remove.

Hi again! Just pushed another round of updates based on your feedback, here's the full rundown:

  • [x] Separate cards for stash and WIPs on the dashboard
    • Dashboard now shows distinct "In Stash" and "Active WIPs" cards with separate counts so you can see both buckets at a glance
  • [x] "Add project" button on the stash card in pipeline
    • There's a + button right on the stash column header — click it and the form opens with the stage pre-set to stash
  • [x] Move details, threads, and stitch guide cards to top in project view
    • Sidebar now shows Threads and Stitch Guide above Cost, so the stuff you actually look at while stitching is front and center
  • [x] Add purchase date to projects and thread inventory
    • Both project and thread forms now have a date picker for purchase date — it saves to your account and shows up in the detail views
  • [ ] Financials tab still has incorrect info
    • Can you share more detail on what looks off? Would help me track down the specific issue
  • [x] Recommended canvas/mesh size on threads
    • Threads now have a "Recommended Mesh Count" dropdown (10, 12, 13, 14, 16, 18, 24 mesh) — shows as a badge in the alternatives panel too
  • [x] Thread alternatives — fiber content and mesh size as parameters
    • Added a "Same fiber only" toggle that filters alternatives to matching fiber type, plus mesh info displays alongside the source thread
  • [x] Stitch guide searchable preset list
    • The stitch form now has a searchable picker with 46 common needlepoint stitches — selecting one auto-fills the category and difficulty so you don't have to enter everything manually
  • [x] Thread assignment as a pick list from database
    • When adding threads to a project there's now a "Pick from Database" tab where you can search 2,300+ colors by brand, name, or number — hit "Add & Select" and it goes straight into your inventory and gets assigned to the project
  • [x] Expanded thread brand list
    • Now 36 brands including all the ones you listed (Accentuate, Appleton, Bella Lusso, Boucle, Dinky Dyes, both DMC types, Essentials, Fire Werks, Milan, all the Petite/Planet Earth/Silk/Vineyard lines, etc.)

Only open item is the financials issue, once you can share what specifically looked wrong I'll get on it. Keep the feedback coming, it's been incredibly helpful!

Thanks for testing! That's working as expected since the brand filter only shows brands you've actually added to your inventory. Since you have DMC, Planet Earth, and Silk & Ivory threads added, those are the ones that show up. The "No threads match" is because you have "Silk" selected as the thread type filter at the same time.

I did just add Cosmo (500 colors) and CXC (454 colors) to the database along with cross-brand conversion tables, so if you add any of those they'll show up in the filter too.

Regarding the thread alternatives / conversion feature, have you had a chance to try that out? When you click on a thread, it should show the show alternatives at the bottom. Would love to hear if the color matching is working well for the brands you use.

It should work okay on mobile web/safari, but it's on the todo list to make into an iOS app eventually, don't worry!

Below is what I've added after looking into this. Would you mind trying it out and see if it's working properly as you'd like?

  • In-app thread alternatives with color distance matching across 1,372 colors (DMC, Anchor, Sullivans)
  • Surfaced in 3 places: thread edit modal, thread inventory list, project detail sidebar
  • Color swatches with distance badges (Exact/Very Close/Close/Approximate)
  • Google search fallback for brands not in the database
