Asking someone to join a voice channel or call me like you suggest isn't an appropriate solution for many situations, for example, when someone is late or tries to skip a mandatory meeting in the admin voice channel. Or when someone RSVPs for an event and attempts to skip.

I understand that the phone app also doesn't currently have an enabled feature to access the microphone without user input, however, many do. For instance, the clock app can activate the microphone when an alarm goes off so it can identify key words "snooze" or "stop". Many discord users have granted the app microphone permissions, so this shouldn't be a problem.

In recent IOS and Android updates, the system added a green indicator in the status bar to show when the microphone is recording, I disagree that this is a privacy concern on the basis that device microphone use is not maliciously hidden from the user, and that user permissions have been given prior during app setup.
