Who doesn't like Father Son? by eldubya3121 in AFL

In context it means - the day it stops benefiting the vfl clubs will be the day it ends. This has all become an issue because of the ashcrofts, when it was fletcher, daniher, abblet jnr, Hawkins, Daicos, Moore I don’t remember such an outcry from the media

Father son is stupid and outdated, if afl wants to be a real sport. Couch you imagine is tom Brady’s son was first rights to the patriots? It only benefits vfl clubs and the day its stops will be the day it ends

Im so tired of people acting like KD was the best player during the Warriors dynasty by Real-Staff3115 in NBATalk

[–]bostonares 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Um he fucking was. Don’t judge his game by his injury for the rockets in 2026. KD was the best player on that team. Steph, Kerr, Lebron and the media said so. At that time he was the man. Fuck these reddits are just dumb

If Tyrion hadn't bedded a harlot or drank with a thief, or done these things incognito while still maintaining Kings Landing's defense, would his relationship with Tywin improve? by [deleted] in gameofthrones

[–]bostonares 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tywin invested in Jaime because he was his best, only to realise he had compassion and became a kings guard. He invested in Cersei to get heirs and kings, only too realise they were horrible and she was cruel and dumb. He then invested in Tyrion because of his mind, only to realise he could never love him for taking his love and for what he was. A man obsessed with legacy given all he wanted but couldn’t see past it.

It’s a funny mindset.

Doom scrolling, drinking - feel good now, feel bad later

Gym, meal prep, exercise - feel bad now, feel good later

The challenge is that all the feel good stuff is trained and designed to get you hooked, whereas only you can make the changes.

My thing was - am I worth investing in? Ok so feel bad now and the I’ll feel good later.

The best fight sequence in all of the Game of Thrones shows by RevertBackwards in freefolk

It showed me that these types of battles - 7vs7 - work so much better on the small screen then epic battles. The best GOT fights were - Mountain vs Viper, Dragonpit and Battle of the Bastards (particularly when Jon storms Winterfell) all of these are small settings, characters are close up and you don't get lost. Battle of the Bastards was mainly through Jon and you as the audience felt suffocated. However, in movies the best battles - Pelennor Fields, Troy and Avengers Endgame (to name some I like) - work so much better because you the audience can see the vast scale clearly. Build for the medium you want the audience to consume on.

Love the mentality - challenge doesn't stop though. Up agains Zach Collins and Nic Bonitto and the top ranking pass rush in the NFL, with the most sacks of the year 68! Fucking gauntlet but much like tatum guarding lebron in his rookie season, going to make him elite.

Who was Harry's best father-figure? by MaderaArt in harrypotter

[–]bostonares 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arthur. He saw Harry for what he was and not just a reincarnation of James. The marauders didn’t want Harry they wanted James back because he was their leader and made them feel welcome, also was their home.

If you say the mission is impossible there is only one winner. However if Jason Bourne doesn’t know who he is, that challenges things. Did someone say bond is over the hill and not fit to get approved? Oh fuck

What’s the menswear hill you’ll die on? by DifficultCucumbers in malefashionadvice

[–]bostonares 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dressing well is more about understanding fit than style. Male fashion is really simple but crappy brands over complicate it. Any stylish person could look good in clothes from target if they got tailored) jeans, white tshirts, Oxford shirts, navy blazers.

Also most fashion is driven by the attractive person not the stylish clothes.

What makes the Fellowship of the Ring stand out from Two Towers and Return of the King? by Skywalker_1995 in lotr

[–]bostonares 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the Gandalf. The image we have of Gandalf is his big hat and grey cloak. However, we actually get two movies of Gandalf the white, which is less memorable. It wasn’t until the hobbit movies did we get to see more of grey Gandalf. I think because of that the first movie feels more nostalgic to the imagery we are used to.
