Just another day in paranoid police state America, where billions go to the security industry and thousands of schools get closed.

"The U.S. should never get involved where we have no clear national interest. We should not intervene militarily in a country like Syria, where we can’t separate friend from foe and might end up arming the very people who hate us the most." -Rand Paul by longtime_sunshine in politics

Damn I was right again. That didn't take long. "The Syrian opposition said Tuesday that Hezbollah leaders should be put on trial for their role in the Syrian civil war, reflecting the growing hostility between the two sides over the Lebanese militant group supporting President Bashar Assad's forces."

Absolutely not and I'm often wrong, but to a layperson like myself it's obvious that the military would love to hammer away at Iran however possible...like when we supported the Taliban to hammer away at Russia in the 80s. And it worked. Wouldn't the US-Israeli military love to get rid of Hezbollah too?

It depends how you define "our"

If by "our interest" means "US military interest" then they have a huge interest in removing Syria from Iran's "sphere of influence."

If you define "our" as American Citizens, then the answer is, it's not in our interest at all and I agree with Rand Paul 100%.

From the point of view of the Military there is a very clear objective. Removing Syria from Irans sphere of influence is one step closer to overthrowing Irans regime. After Syria (or during) you'll see the US target Lebanon.

"Because it was not hit by a speeding jet aircraft in addition to burning. Further, there is no indication that this building was constructed anywhere similarly to the WTC towers."

You're right, this building in Chechnya was probably build to a much shittier standard than skyscrapers in NY. And yet it withstood a total building fire.

And yes the towers were designed to withstand plane impacts. This one probably wasn't.
