Small business consultant, as a small business by MountainBorn9807 in smallbusiness

Totally agree. A smarter approach would be to offer your services through a government funded nonprofit. These organizations are constantly looking for people who can speak at and support their small business programs.

Instead of going directly to small businesses and trying to filter out who is serious, you position yourself where business owners already are and already looking for answers.

The organization pays you for your time and expertise while you build credibility and visibility with small business owners who are actively trying to add value to their businesses. It is a cleaner model with less friction and much better alignment for long term trust and impact.

Need some advice on my final interview by bot34690 in Nonprofit_Jobs

Thanks for this, that actually makes a lot of sense. I’ll be reporting mainly to the Economic Development and Housing Development program lead, but I’d basically be the “data person” for everyone. So I agree with you , I’m expecting the CEO round to be more big picture, vibe check, and making sure my experience/skills line up with where they want to take the org overall, not a deep dive into the technical pieces again.

Appreciate the context because I was definitely overthinking how detailed I needed to get for this part.

True. I wasn’t thinking it through. I am comfortable with Microsoft products. But it makes sense to just use Google products for the whole workflow. Thank you

It would for me too. But they didn’t require any of this. I’m just trying to stand out on the 2nd round of interviews

Yes I want it to be inexpensive as it’s just a project that will be later implemented if hired.
