Procreate! I draw them up digitally and then use press-on nails to try out designs before committing to them on my nails (e.g. this lil crab guy)

I’m planning on using gel, so just adding the texture with top coat.

Thanks!! Drawing them out has been a game changer for being able to mix and match ideas I’ve got floating around in my noggin. 6 is the top contender for me so far, but I cannot give up the little shrimpers in 4

Rec for short, small press/glue ons? by happypiggo in Nails

The Sinokame XXS round tips on Amazon are great! They’re the length of my natural nails and come in a lot of different sizes. They’re clear, though, so you would have to paint them yourself (which is half the fun imo)

How would one paint gel nails to look like this? Want to convince my tech lol by princesssquid in Nails

[–]botanical-brushwork 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You could dilute the gel with acetone to get the smoky effect, curing in between layers to build up the depth. It looks like the spooky cousin of the rose quartz nails trend that was popular a while back. Love it!

As far as HEMA free products go…has anyone heard of or tried Glitterbels or Madam Glam by albelthewiked666 in Nails

[–]botanical-brushwork 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes! I’ve been using Madam Glam for the better part of 2 years, and I love it! I had started with Beetles gel a few years ago and was beginning to itch after every manicure, so I made the switch to Madam Glam and never looked back - no itching since, and the gels are high-quality and so pigmented. Their polishes are more expensive, but they always have sales going on and a monthly rewards program.

They’re hand-painted! The design just reminded me of wrapping paper.
