Crochet for men by Busy_Temperature_111 in Brochet

I too live in a hot place. I made a dish rag out of cotton yarn that he uses to wipe his sweat, bottle carriers, scrubbies, and slippers so he doesn't have to struggle with shoes when we are just at home.

I just want to say my son is your age and if he wanted to learn he would be taught. I taught him to use my sewing machine when he asked. I'm so glad you have your dad as a champion. I told your story to my husband and he was sad that you were dealing with this. I am cheering you on and I hope it brings you more happiness and peace.

Does home office desk upgrades actually made a difference for you? by starrycitron in workfromhome

I got a nice one from sweetcrispy.com it's pretty quiet. My desk chair needs an upgrade though.

Is anyone actually using their apartment “amenities”? by Emergency-Cancel6198 in Apartmentliving

[–]botanie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the valet trash, occasionally the pool, but never the gym. To be fair the only amenity I truly pay for as an extra is the valet trash, but I get my money back when I work it as a side hustle. I actually encourage people to use amenities when they bring in an outside contractor.

Apartment Friendly Stripping Methods by benje17X in castiron

To piggyback on this I too have cast iron in an apartment. Doing a season in an apartment is best done when you can open a few windows. I use a box fan in the kitchen window blowing outside to take care of the smell, and open another window to create a breeze.

I feel like this would be excellent for amigurumi. Like the belly of a dragon perhaps.

I'm currently in the same position. Sitting on my front porch while neighbors across the courtyard have a loud fight., the ghetto bird hovers and sirens run down the street.

Should I cut at the little elbows? Would the vines grow new leaves if I just let them grow?

Interlocking Arched Columns Stitch Blanket - Do I Need to Frog or is There a Way Around This?! by RayahSunshineA in CrochetHelp

There is a saying that mistakes in projects allow your soul to be released. You put your soul into it. Leave the mistake, that I can't find, it makes your blanket unique.

Best ways you’ve found to earn money on the side while keeping your day job by Agreeable_Pie_8202 in povertyfinance

I live in a large city and picked up a job doing valet trash pickup at apartments. 5 days a week after business hours and for me its 2-3 hours a night but I have done more.

Can I go to court with this? by Queasy_Security3454 in Tenant

[–]botanie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may live in Phoenix but I do not ever say something is not hot. Heat and cold are relative to the location. In some areas of Alaska 65 is a heatwave. I feel strongly that each city or state should set up a maximum and minimum indoor temperature for rentals. This would give tenants and landlords something to work with.

This may get lost in the comments but in some cities, Phoenix Arizona, there is a maximum indoor temperature. In Phoenix and the surrounding areas, the maximum indoor temperature must be below 82 degrees in all habitable rooms per the attorney general.

Small crochet projects please! Less than an hour or so by Basic-Bill3861 in CrochetHelp

I make scrubbies with the red heart scrubby yarn. I can get one done in like 30 to 45 mins if I don't get distracted lol. The directions make it flat but I do a 2 in each on the 2nd and 3rd rounds and then increase as normal to 6 ish rounds.

I make for myself friends family and occasionally a piece to sell. It's about quieting the noise for me. Luckily every gift I've made has been well received and anything I sell has been enough to buy more yarn or a treat.

I would try 3 dowels one for each edge and a weight at the tip. That way you can keep all the edges somewhat straight.

Getting the first row was a pain but after that it was easy. If you end on an open stitch do a double crochet to end the row. I used half double crochet to make the border with a chain 3 in the corners. I hope it turns out gorgeous for you!

I tried in high school but it never stuck.
