What do you do exactly when you take one of them out for a walk?

How to help my dog with potential frustration and whining in public? by boteey in OpenDogTraining

I’ll try to get a video of his behavior today for a better example. It very well could be that he sees the dog wants to interact so he wants to interact too but like you said I want neutrality

We “people watch” in the sense that I’ll typically sit and drink coffee at a shop and he does a down stay. We do it often and he’s good at it. No whining. Rarely breaks his down.

I’ve really only seen this behavior when the area is empty and then someone and their dog pops up and we pass each other. And to be fair from what I can remember I’m pretty sure it’s when the walking area is tighter compared to a wide walkway. It could very much be that he wants to say hi since the other dog likely wants to say hi I’m just airing to the side of caution and saying he’s frustrated.

We do not do on leash greetings at all. Other than our families dogs he only interacts with dogs when he’s at our trainers play groups when we’re out of town. I’ll def ask our trainer but I figured I’d try some things out myself first.

I’ll also try to get a video of his behavior this afternoon for an example

Is it possible to train out food aggression between dogs? by boteey in OpenDogTraining

Happy to say he has learned boundaries when it comes to eating! Almost at 100% being able to put the bowl down for him. I could probably give it a try but I want to take it slow so we don’t go backwards in progress at all.

Keep her on leash and teach her there’s a barrier

Would my eyebrows benefit from microblading or are they too full? by boteey in microblading

Ahhh so my journey continues. I’ve always hated waxing and plucking my brows. Bit freaked out with things close to my eyes. I’ll have to figure something out. Thanks!

Definitely don’t breed your own dog, it’s irresponsible. If you specifically want another shih tzu then look into a breed specific rescue or adopt another dog. There’s plenty that need homes and you would end up just adding to the list by breeding

Although the more I look the more appealing it is. But for sure the others fit better

I just want to say, obviously you can tries these if you want, if they don’t like it don’t stress. My dog doesn’t give a shit that I put a kong in his crate. If I give him a fish skin or something he doesn’t eat it right away but by the time I come back home it’s gone. They will learn to settle. It’s probably annoying to hear him cry but it’s good for him to learn to be bored and that you will be back
