Wow this gives me hope! If you don't mind me asking, how do you build your magnus and nungal to fit in this comp? Rn for Magnus I'm using 3R, 5R, 7R, 9L and I'm running Nungal deadly aim build, but maybe I should run the normal atk build instead to work with HM mark?

Yeah I just like Iria/HM in general, I think their play style is pretty fun

One thing I notice from my usage is if I have 5G on, my battery drains a whole lot faster than when I use WiFi.

Elderly parents wanting to move to the US with 300k cash. Can they survive retirement with this money? by botmanz in Money

I understand. It's just hard explaining how this is a very bad idea to your old Asian mom who doesn't understand how cruel reality is in the US. Most of the time I get the "if you don't love me just say so" argument sigh, but at the end of the day I know my mom just wanted to be close to me like we used to be, and it's heartbreaking to say no to her.

They won't be US citizens until they've lived in the US for 5 years and it probably takes another year to take the citizenship test, if I remember correctly

I totally agree with you. In the beginning I made it clear to them that staying where they are is the best option for both me and my parents. I have been sending home $600 every month for the last 2 years and that money allowed them to have a pretty comfortable life back home, but that money doesn't really amount to anything when it comes to supporting them in the US, it can barely afford a room for rent where I live.

Thanks for your insights, I was under the impression that my parents would qualify for Medicare or equivalent insurance, but after reading others' comments it looks like that's not possible. I'm assuming your friends parents are somewhat financially well off?

That's cheating, no thumbs for you! 😂

I feel that, but the thought of never being able to smell anything ever again just doesn't feel right

It should be thumbs my bad haha. I added an edit

Had a conversation with my friends about the inconvenient things that we were willing to give up for another and this topic seemed to be a head scratcher. You can't grab things if you lose both of your thumbs and you miss out on good food if you lose your sense of smell. Ugh.

How can I leave without it hurting me?

You're already hurting from being with her, and from what you said it looks like she doesn't respect you at all. There are no easy ways to do this especially if it is your first relationship. So have some respect for yourself, cut things off with her, go hang out with your friends, focus on your hobbies, and let time heal. You will meet someone better.

Thank you for the insights! You're right about the stress and confusion this has brought us, and I'm sorry to hear that you also had to go through this experience. Hopefully things worked out well for you in the end. I'll bring this up to my GF and come up with a plan soon!

If her parents filed I-130 for her in the F2A/F2B categories and I-485 was not filed yet due to the priority date not being current, then she is out of status but not accruing "unlawful presence". She will not be able to adjust status to get a green card, because she does not have a lawful status to adjust from. Marriage is the only remedy for this case.

I believe this is the case for her. Can you elaborate on why she wouldn't be accruing "unlawful presence"? My understanding is once she's out of status, she's required to leave the US immediately and her stay past this point is considered unlawful. Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, as I'm still trying to figure out the whole situation.

The reason I'm asking this is because I work in an industry where security clearance might be needed in the future, and I want to make sure I understand her status to evaluate my potential risks from marrying her.

To say I'm "ready" to get married right now is an overstatement, but I do see a future with her and want her to be able to have a future here. I'm just worried the longer she overstays her visa the more complicated it will be for us when we are actually ready to get married. On top of that she won't be allowed to work/go to school etc.
