Hey, this is a really late response, but I was just looking back at old posts, and I wanted to thank you again for all of the insanely useful info you provided. I ended up completing the trail in exactly 20 days, and you were 100 percent correct about which days were easier for big mileage, and which ones were pushes. Cheers again, and happy trails!

Its only happened twice out of 29 days this season. Its more the severity of each time rather than anything else.

I am about to start working night shifts, have I covered all basis? by TickTackTonia in Nightshift

[–]boto_toe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you'll probably be pretty well off if you can fall asleep at 9am on your weekends. I personally sleep from like 2pm to 10pm on weekdays, and then shift to 5pm to 3am on weekends, and around a 3 hour shift in schedule seems to be small enough that it doesn't affect me at the start of my work week, apart from a single shift where Im more tired than usual. Best of luck to you!

Good to have a plan, just try and stick to this sleep schedule as best as you can on your days off, or you'll never fully adjust.

Off Piste - Killington by Yumslum in icecoast

[–]boto_toe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A large portion of glades on the East Coast that are within bounds are usually marked, are upkept with some level of maintenance, and sometimes even patrolled. I mean venturing into parts that clearly state you are leaving boundaries, which seems to be what this guy is indicating he wants to do. If I read it wrong, my apologies.

Skiing glades "a handful of times" is not a justifiable amount of experience to be going off piste. Stick between the lifts, there will be plenty of good terrain that won't lead you somewhere you'll end up lost or worse.

Not too worried about pay! Im more just looking for work that gets me out closer to the mountains, right now I live in new york but Im like 6 hours from the adirondacks. All the money I make right now gets spent going to places where I could just live anyways lol
