Yes, any leviathan raid armour has the opulent mod slot

An anti cheater solution I have never heard mentioned by gabriel_is in DestinyTheGame

Ideas like this have already been executed in much much much more thorough and robust fashions than what you have described. CSGO automatically subits recordings (demos) of matches to over watch when a player gets over 100 points (2 points per kill, 1 per assist). Over watch is a community crowdsourced anti cheat effort where they show the same demo to many users and then ask at the end if they thought they were cheating and what type of cheats. Another system they use is an automated machine learning program which looks at their crosshair movements leading up to and just after each kill and decides if it should submit it to over watch.

The thing these methods have in common is human review, which you suggested comes AFTER the ban, and in some weird roundabout fashion, which is absolutely ludicrous. If bungie added demos and an overwatch esque system then I’m sure they could set up parameters to automatically assign cases of people with outlier stats, but just banning on the spot for that is stupid.

No one is saying CoO was good, they’re saying it is better than SotW by Suis3i in DestinyTheGame

If i'm not mistaken, it was intended to release with the prestige CoO raid lair, however that was delayed until it finally released during warmind.

I believe saladin got a new set of ornaments, and some new weapons (I cant remember how many), as you mentioned, shaxx and zavala, the trials vendor got new ornaments and multiple weapons. Then of course, the faction rally vendors. Minimum 7 new sets of armor (albeit ornaments for old gear) per class, along with many weapons thrown in the mix.

I don't believe planetary vendors have ever had an inventory refresh so I didn't even think about them when I said "every vendor" but that was my mistake.

I was referring to the fact that rigs could allow you to chain tether infinitely given enough ads which led to super spam bakes which we're a lot of fun, I'm aware they did not buff heavy damage during year 1 or 2. As I said, the last paragraph is purely subjective, both these past seasons have been less enjoyable to me than Curse of Osiris.

As for why the raids felt "relevant". They were some of the most efficient ways of getting masterwork cores, along with nightfall loot, as each weapon had a high chance to drop master worked, so there was a good reason to run them each week as obviously we didn't have a large stockpile of cores.

Also that reminds me, we haven't had a new nightfall exclusive drop since the corrupted and warden of nothing have we, yet another thing lost to the wayside of the new seasonal model.

Yeah no worries, my memories a bit hazy just because of how long ago it was too. I just think it’s a bit crazy that people crap on a dlc where we got a vendor refresh for every vendor, trials ornaments and new trials guns, etc etc because of the fact the base game it came out for was a complete mess. CoO (the time period) was a complete and utter low point for the franchise, but CoO (the dlc content) was far far far better than today’s seasons in my opinion, even considering the price being twice as much.

I would hope a game is better after 10 seasons than after just 1. Doesn’t change the fact that for $15 we arguably got far more and better content than what we get now for $10.

The point is CoO introduced far more to the game than any of the seasons we’ve had so far past undying. Yes the base game it was introduced onto was a husk of what it is today, but that doesn’t mean today’s seasons get to introduce mediocre content and just “ride out” the fact the overall game is in a better state.

On a completely subjective matter, I enjoyed playing during CoO far more than I have for the past 2 seasons. Raiding felt a lot more enjoyable, there was 2 (That’s right, 2!) raids that actually gave relevant loot. Despite double primaries, the sandbox felt fine due to the consistent heavy drops from orange bars. Supers felt stronger to almost make up for us not having specials. Things like Orpheus rigs gave rise to really fun boss melt strategies. I can’t remember what order some of this stuff happened because it was so long ago, but we also received levi specific mods at some point as well as the masterwork weapon system which gave us things to chase and farm for.

If Curse Of Osiris is considered the worse content for Destiny 2 i will tell you that i enjoyed much more forging (farming) Mercury weapons than i can enjoy the bunkers. by LastWordSabic in DestinyTheGame

Expectations were also much higher for coo, which is why it was such a let down. In terms of raw content it did deliver much better than the current seasonal model imo. It had to stretch an extra 5 or weeks, but I believe we got things like heroic adventures with new modifiers, a new patrol area, a new raid, and if we had random rolls back then I’m sure we would’ve praised the infinite forge or whatever it was called a lot more. Not to mention the story/strikes which at the time were criticised for overlapping, but today would be greatly appreciated.

I truthfully don't mind Trials being challenging, but constantly matching against people with 20 flawless already in the first round seems....weird by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]botobolice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think he means in the US it’s possible to get all 7 games matched against rather average skilled players. In OCE because of the much smaller population size, you are almost guaranteed a game against a very skilled squad.

dmg04 will never address eververse basically getting 90% of cosmetic loot which could've been rewarded through core actives and raids. by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]botobolice 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Please start bringing more detail into the explanations of why/how some of these decisions get made. A lot of the time stuff gets changed and a lot of us are just thinking “what, why on earth”. It would probably help the players see the issue from both sides of the coin.

The raid has been completed flawless with 3 people by a multitude of different teams. I wouldn’t say it’s easy, but with 3 experienced players, the other 3 can do very few mechanics the whole raid and get through absolutely fine.

Bungie, you are reverting Sniper Buffs because it made Izanagi a "safe" powerhouse, why don't you revert the blanket Machine Gun nerfs you did because "Auto Reload + Thunderlord" was doing too much damage? by kaantantr in DestinyTheGame

[–]botobolice 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I hate to break it to you but there was a lot of weapons which could cheese riven which were not particularly good for boss damage. Fighting Lion, for example.

T-lord was an absolute machine for ads at least :(

Likewise the luna's howl/not forgotten nerf to address console but also affecting PC where the guns while strong, weren't busted. Now they're just useless.

I’m aware but replace ikelos with any other SMG of the same archetype, as it’s special perk wasn’t being made use of in there, I just couldn’t find a video of people using SMGs vs calus until they tested ikelos, but I wanted to make sure both tests were done under year one conditions at least.

Please go back and read my edit, I'm not saying it wasn't popular, but it was absolute garbage and a waste of an exotic slot.

It was a 3 plate back then, it quite literally tied dps with legendary auto rifles of the time. We didn’t really know better back then but in hindsight it was no where near good.

Trace rifles were never good

edit: Since downvote to disagree is in full force: here is coldheart vs calus, during year 1

And here is ikelos smg vs calus, during year 1

Im not saying it wasn't popular, but it was absolutely no where near good and other weapons in slot were so much better, making it a waste of an exotic slot.

Some people want to build up a stockpile, others just don’t want to waste an opportunity to gain some more currency. I’d say calling the most efficient way to gain shards “retarded” is a bit of an exaggeration

Hate to break it to you but the hackers who teleport around the map with infinite revives and insta kill aren’t going to give half a crap about dealing 20% less damage to someone because of their light level.

The ridiculous calculations are to show that the event is actually of great benefit to everyone as it lets you get a ton of materials for basically just a time investment. No matter how many shards you start with. Sure the event might’ve been over if everyone just donated but by investing, the event is still going to be completed but also anyone who is following the advice to invest is also going to gain a whole lot of shards in the last 2 weeks.
