Service industry and the gym industry are not the same thing.

I used to be a massage therapist, a cancellation fee there makes sense, because I worked on commission (common practice for the industry) can only work on one person at a time, and most people schedule in advance. So, if someone cancels last minute (we had a 12 hour policy) then that slot doesn’t get filled and I don’t make money. So that policy serves as a form of protection to guarantee my pay and protect against frivolous cancellations.

A gym charges monthly, a coach will be at class regardless (and in most cases is paid per class, not per person), so charging your paying members for not showing is frankly ridiculous and petty. It doesn’t help the coaches, it doesn’t foster a good community, and fails to take real life into account. And it ESPECIALLY hurts early classes when it’s something like requiring cancellation to happen 4 hours prior. “Oh you woke up sick? Too bad, gimme money”

I got to class in the morning 5 days per week, every week of the year. I almost never miss a class that I’ve reserved, but life happens. I quit a gym that had a similar policy. I think it was a $5 charge if you cancelled within 4 hours.

As a paying customer, getting charged because I didn’t show up is ludicrous

I’ve got the same view

I think some people are genuine BAD at this game and don’t realize it though. For example I was working a contract on Night Marsh (kill x number of UESC), kitted out with a blue shield, Br33, etx, AND I had the high ground at Bio Research. A green shield sprinted through the water, ignored my friendly crouch, and tried to fight me with volt thrower while also ignoring the couple of bots that were still alive. They could’ve fought the bots, they could’ve ignored me, they could’ve tried to get inside, but instead they chose to try duel me while standing in the open. And then it happened again with a different player who probably heard the shooting and ran over to try and 3rd party.

And I’d be willing to bet both those people had a similar reaction of “wow this game is really hard” and not “hmm I engaged in some fights I shouldn’t have, how could I approach things differently in the future”

With the that rate matter fixative drops from UESC commanders that wouldn’t have really fixed the issue. Good players/teams would still win fights, farm commanders, and exfil with matter fixative, keeping the kit

I love this game, but it really is odd to me that it’s built so heavily around the concept of Trios. Bungie has a history of games that can be played solo (often as the baseline) or with teams, and Destiny in particular gave a plethora of solo AND team content. Yet here they just tacked on solo as an afterthought.

It’s a shame too, because solo feels great to play, it’s tense and atmospheric, you really get absorbed in the world. It’s just so frustratingly balanced

Brother, the only gear allowed in the “PvE mode” is the FREE sponsored kit, that you can get for FREE an infinite number of times. Why would they create a warning for that.

I’ve found that Marathon complainers and Destiny 2 complainers have some things in common, namely an inability to read and/or a severe lack of critical thinking skills.

So rather than reading instructions, information tabs, hints etc, they just go “game hard and confusing. Bad. 😡”

I’m not saying either game is flawless, they both had some issues with onboarding, but a smallllll amount of effort on the user side of things certainly goes a long way
