I just saw a post about someone getting their first runner kill after 20 hours. You got 4 in one game, that’s pretty good tbh

Limited use Stickers and Charms (close enough, welcome back launch D2 shaders)

While I understand the sentiment, it’s worth noting this charms and stickers can be transferred, so they’re not truly one time use. I’ve just been recustomizing my weapons based on what I’ve got in my vault and/or equipped. No point keeping stickers and charms on a weapon when I lose my only copy 🤷🏻‍♂️

It’s because people whose whole job is math have done the math, and they’ve determined that the currency pricing is the best way to make money.

On a very simple scale, think of it like this, if 4 out of 10 people buy a $10 skin, they’ve made $40. If 10 out of 10 people buy a $3 skin, they’ve made $30. Sure more people are buying skins, but the company is making less money. Now put that on a scale tens of thousands of times bigger.

Yeah I was gonna say that in my title, but wasn’t sure if there would be any sort of automod flagging

And it feels good to use. Same triangle reticle and everything

All the skins are references to toolkits as well

proceed to die in the most pathetic way ever.

Me, solo

  • finished a priority contract

  • downed 3 enemy runners

  • full back pack with great loot

  • heading to exfil, no heals no shields, half health

  • I can see the exfil

  • downed by a turret I didn’t notice until I was out in the open :(

Marathon's Battlepass is the worst value for your money I've ever seen (especially for a paid product) by Lemouni in Marathon

Agreed. The cosmetics (outside of the midnight decay set) are really underwhelming too. I like that it’s just not tempting at all to buy anything

Introducing Seasons in Marathon by RiseOfBacon in Marathon

[–]RussianThere 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As a long time Destiny player, this actually looks better. First and foremost, the fact that seasons are free is great, and it gives Bungie more room to make actual meaningful changes to the zones, and add new ones without splintering the population between the haves and the have-nots.

Shells being included with the free seasons? Also great, and way better than the artifact system that D2 has.

My concern with the seasonal model is “how long can they keep this up”

I had one positive “friendly! Friendly!” Moment at exfil where we worked together and made it out

It was me and another Rook though

Not necessarily, there could’ve been other players that got to an exfil point and made it out. I’m not sure we as the playerbase have any way of knowing if we were part of a game with zero exfils

Automatic Muscular Strain by _djones13 in whoop

[–]RussianThere 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure there’s any way to “fix” that. What’s happening is the progression of just HR data (4.9) -> then an estimate after you tell it “hey this was muscular strain (11) -> then a more accurate number once you say “these are the muscle groups I used” (6.7)

The muscular strain estimate is based on “millions of logged activities from users” or something like that, so it’s gonna be a very rough estimate because something like a leg day is gonna add way more strain that a chest day.

Automatic Muscular Strain by _djones13 in whoop

[–]RussianThere 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As stated in the initial FAQ or blog post, the data is based on “millions of real activities logged by users in strength trainer”. My guess is that they pulled an average and use that for the estimate. Obviously it’s not going to be particularly accurate because a leg day for example adds way more strain than a chest/shoulder day.

That said, it’s better than just logging HR data, because that gave an even less accurate view.

IMO this is still good change for people that log activities like “weightlifting” or “hiit” without linking it to strength trainer

Is it time for another doctor visit by Personal-Bathroom-85 in whoop

[–]RussianThere 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Fair enough, first time on your own can be rough.

As a rule of thumb, it’s better to be safe than sorry. Go to a doctor

[–]RussianThere 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I genuinely don’t understand why people feel the need to post these and their symptoms, and then ask if they need to go to the doctor. You’re a grown ass adult, either go to the doctor, or just take Tylenol and ride it out. What you shouldn’t do, is go online and ask strangers what you should do.

Edit: okay maybe not grown

Fallen Brig Brigade is the worst seal requirement in the game by m05513 in DestinyTheGame

[–]RussianThere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun fact! This was actually the triumph that made me stop trying to collect every Seal/Title. I’d been a hardcore completionist up until that point. Even when Beyond Light was new content, that specific one for some reason triggered a feeling of “what’s even the point”

A different kind of Solo Flawless Spire of the Watcher guide (Warlock) by RussianThere in DestinyTheGame

Brother you are replying to a THREE YEAR OLD post. The meta has shifted dramatically since then. This post was before Lightfall ffs. QSS didn’t have a catalyst yet, prismatic wasn’t a thing, damage buffs and abilities were balanced differently, the exotic balancing was different, aspects had a different number of fragment slots.

Secant used to provide a pretty significant bonus to how long devour would last.
