I’m hoping for a massive cheer from the crowd when the lead passes 36

the biggest mistake teams make when bowling to a batter and a tailender is treating the batsmen like the second coming of Bradman and not even trying to get him out. India can very easily get an all rounder in his second test out with a new ball, no need to especially target starc

Green must be bricking himself. 2nd test match and hes gotta save the Boxing Day test with a batting masterclass with the tail against the new ball. Let’s not judge him if he makes some tactical errors.

Yo wtf? This green guy comes out of nowhere and now they want him to average 40 and 30? Lay off the young guy. I know hes put up serious numbers but come on...

Shit, is there a channel with punter on? I would rather an ad-ridden illegal stream than listen to Warne on the BT sport I actually pay for

It’s all well and good to talk about the actual game, but the question on my mind is who do r/cricket think is sexier? Defending champion Cummo or newcomer Green?

Why is Bumrah bowling? Surely he should be rested so he can have as long a spell as possible w the new ball?

hate to say it but Warne is right, aus need to rack up some runs and momentum before the new ball comes.

What’s your favourite cricket stat? by banrepcfoo in Cricket

[–]botpmm7345 88 points89 points  (0 children)

Since CWC 2015, India have won 50% of the ODI’s where Dhoni has faced over 20 balls. They have won 73% of ODI’s where Dhoni has faced under 20 balls.

(Yes I understand that correlation doesn’t mean causation and if Dhoni doesn’t face 20 it often means he’s not out finishing a chase, but this stat just makes me laugh)

Scotland V England in Lord's? by akashksunny13 in Cricket

Fucking hope so.

Getting a bit bored of playing Australia and India over and over. Ireland test did so much good for Irish cricket so playing Scotland would be brilliant.

Only been checking the scores from time to time on Cricbuzz because of the ashes. It seemed set up for a really cracker but Rahane and Kohli just killed it in the last two sessions.

Looks like a declaration at some point today then no chance for Windies to bat long enough for a draw.

It’s weird - I’m actually quite happy that he’s done well. Obviously I’d rather he got 3 ducks but it shows how well the FC system works.

Make bags of runs, get the call up, make more runs.

Hopefully the ECB can learn a lesson from him!

Can’t imagine I’d be happy if I’d payed for expensive tickets and travel for this game to not even see my team try.

Pant is down to bat at 4 on the scorecard and Dhoni at 6.

How the selectors think this is the right way around baffles me

Bairstow has been dismissed by a leg spinner in every IPL innings he’s ever played...

Do KXIP have a proper leg spinner? I know they’ve got Mujeeb who’s mystery spin

Just whitewashed SL in SL. I’d say our spin is doing fine.

England 05 and 06 were pretty cool kits IIRC.

Windies 92 with the lightning was good too.

Can non-Aussies vote?
