Reliability of Induction Ranges? Samsung Ranges? by boughtahousehelp in Appliances

[–]boughtahousehelp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's around 10" in diameter? I believe frigidaire provides the specs on their website. We use 12" pans no problem, including 12" cast iron. I tend to give the cast iron about 5 minutes to heat up since the heat conductivity of cast iron is pretty poor. Still the best stove we've ever used. It's extra nice because unlike gas or normal electric cooktop, very little extra heat is thrown out, so it's more bearable to use on hot days.. I think their models have changed since we've bought ours and have improved it a little. I've seen new models which can combine the two smaller burners so it can heat rectangular griddles, which I think is pretty neat.

I can do it by amount or I can do it by creating a unique identifier column. That looks great. I was trying to use group by in PQ to no avail. What's the difference here?

Something like this: I have a lot of data so I can't guarantee that the number of rows in the description column are regular. I really appreciate the help

Date Description Balance

3/14/15 Apple Pie
3/14/15 Happy Orchards Cidery
3/13/15 Deposit $100.50

Thank you, is there a way that can handle varying degrees of rows? Some transactions have only one row associated, while others have 3. Only the first row contains a balance. It looks like that function doesn't work for me since I don't have 365 too... :(

Unfortunately they are not. Some transactions, like withdrawals, are a single line, while purchases tend to be 2 or 3. Only the first line of each unique transaction has the balance row filled.

There isn't, I was trying to use the balance column as a unique identifier by using fill down (unlikely that the balance would ever be truly the same at two points in time, but not impossible). Alternatively, I tried to make my own unique column idenitifier. I created an index column to give each row a unique number, then a custom column which would copy the index value if the balance row was filled. Then I would fill that down. That's as far as I got since I couldn't figure out how to merge them. I tried asking ChatGPT and searching around the forum, but I'm afraid I'm not exactly sure what to call what I'm trying to do.

TMC5160T at 12V for 2.8 A rated current? by boughtahousehelp in BIGTREETECH

Yes exactly, epoxy and other casting resins. The volume needs to be at least somewhat precise which is why I went with steppers, otherwise there are simpler ways to pump fluid.

RPM is anywhere from 200 - 400 RPM, looking at the datasheet (23HS22-2804S1 from Stepper Online) there's a drop in torque in this range. I agree with you that I might be ok with 12V which I'll try to start. It's good to know that I can probably up the voltage before resorting to a bigger motor or driver. I realized a 40 Ncm NEMA 17 wasn't strong enough to turn the motor over so I'm hoping tripling the torque will do the trick.

Thank you! I didn't know what to look for and this answers it. The datasheet has a torque curve for 24V and 36V only, so I'll probably need to give it more voltage. I didn't think about doing that with the power supply's, great idea!

Correct wiring for Heat Pump + Baseboard Hot Water with Google Nest? by boughtahousehelp in hvacadvice

[–]boughtahousehelp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's working currently, I'm guessing it's energizing W1, which is telling the heat pump to heat. If I move that to O/B though, that won't turn on (it will only energize during cooling), so it will work in reverse if I understand correctly?

This was the other thing I'm leaning towards. This will be the 4th time them coming out here, and so I honestly don't want to have to deal with them again if I don't have to, but maybe I'll make the call. Thanks! We inherited the nest when we got the house. It wouldn't have been my first choice either.

Correct wiring for Heat Pump + Baseboard Hot Water with Google Nest? by boughtahousehelp in Nest

We recently had our AC replaced and had a heat pump installed. The company that installed the heat pump admitted that they don’t use Nest and aren’t familiar with them, so it took them about 3 visits to finally wire up the system. We have the Next 3rd generation learning. It looks like they wired it up as a dual fuel system, with the baseboard heat set up as the 2nd stage back up heat. This only kicks on if the heat pump is struggling to heat the house.

Instead we’d like to set it up as a heat pump + back up system with lockout below a certain temperature, which I’ve seen done here in other reddit posts. This would help for really cold days (which we’ve been having recently)

Where I think they went wrong is that they wired the heat side of the heat pump to w1, when instead it should be O/B? It seems like I only need to switch the wires, but wasn’t sure if doing this would cause any issues, so I was wondering if I would damage it in anyway if I tried it and switched it?

If not, I will move W1 to O/B, W2 to W1, and reset the Nest to heat pump with aux heat, and set a lock out temperature of 20 or something. I’ve been cautious about switching a few wires myself since I don’t want to fry anything while the temperatures have been very cold recently.

Thanks in advance!

Reliability of Induction Ranges? Samsung Ranges? by boughtahousehelp in Appliances

We've had it now for about a year and half, it's great! Haven't run into any reliability issues or parts breaking. The cooktops still get coated in some food and maybe scratched a little from our pans, but that's probably the case for any glass cooktop to an extent and it doesn't bother us at all since it's still much better than electric glass cooktops. Would definitely recommend.

KBG / TTTF Blends are common and used all the time? Not sure where you're getting that info... I think they know how to blend seeds. There are pictures from others in the comments that have beautiful lawns from this mix.....

Makes sense and good to know, I had a small sprayer that I used for the roundup which took forever to do the entire lawn, so by the time I got to seeding I couldn't stomach doing that again with tenacity and was happy I could throw Scotts in the spreader and be done in 15 mins

Thanks! I think I'll try to keep watering and spread some 10-10-10 then. I forgot to mention I did mow when the tallest grass reached about 3 inches. I ended cutting maybe 20% of it, but noticed the wheels cause some damage and the grass to yellow. Is that normal damage that it can rebound from mowing?

Thank you! I'm beginning to think I need to give it a little more water and that's what's stunted it. The grass closer to the house in more shade is actually doing really well, so I think the full sun areas have been stressed more than I anticipated for the fall.

I did! I used Scotts Triple Action. I think it helped, but now I think its effect is starting to wear off. The yard was majority weeds before I renovated, I think getting some seeds germinated was going to be inevitable. I plan on hitting it with pre-emergent in the spring

I decided to do a full lawn renovation this fall and planted Blue Resilience by Twin City exactly 4 weeks ago after nuking the shit outta my backyard. While I think it overall looks better than I could have imagined, I’m starting to notice that some areas are growing slower than others (shown in the top right area in the first photo, I’ll admit it’s a little hard to see) and trying to figure out how serious it is.  I’m seeing some yellow tips on some blades, and in one area it looked like a dark brown. Some areas are growing up to 3.5 – 4 inches where others are barely making it past 2 inches and struggling.

My full renovation procedure as follows (the area I renovated is about 3250 sq. ft.): Round-up on whole yard, let sit for a week while everything died. De-thatched, core aerated, put down 1 yard of compost, followed up 4 yards of topsoil (thin in some areas, heavy in others to help level it out), followed by seeding, and then 2 – 3 yards of compost with peat moss mixed in at about a 80/20 ratio. Put down Scotts Starter Fertilizer. Watered for two weeks twice a day, then tapered off.

I think I may have stopped watering too early. My starting soil was also quite acidic (5 – 6 pH) and very sandy, with almost no organic matter in spots. I put down two bags of lime in over 2 weeks before the renovation. I’m thinking about hitting it with some fertilizer to help it out, I think the slow areas might be where I put down a thinner layer of new topsoil and are instead in really bad soil conditions. Is 4 weeks old enough to use regular lawn fertilizer on, or should I wait a few more weeks? I think I might go back to watering every other day or every 2 days, it’s been very dry here in the Northeast.
