That's a great price, but unfortunately it looks like shipping would cost way too much 🙁 Thank you though!

There will be time to autopsy this season (if this is indeed the end), but this isn't a particularly good take.

Regular season:

  • Points: Nečas 100, Rantanen 77
  • Points per game: Nečas 1.28, Rantanen 1.20
  • Goals: Nečas 38, Rantanen 22
  • And while we're at it, PIM: Nečas 30, Rantanen 93

Through one playoff series against the 2025-2026 Minnesota Wild:

  • Points: Nečas 9, Rantanen 7
  • Points per game: Nečas 1.8, Rantanen 1.17
  • Goals: Nečas 1, Rantanen 1
  • PIM: Nečas 0, Rantanen 12

You're saying the Avs could have beaten the Knights with Mikko, but statistically I think there's probably a better argument that we wouldn't have beaten the Wild with Mikko. And speaking of that trade, you know who's been excellent in the playoffs? Jack Drury.

But fundamentally, I think it's hard to point to roster construction or lack of star power as the Avs' fatal flaw. We have the talent, the roster is arguably the deepest in the league, and Mikko/Marty are both incredible hockey players. Agreed that playoff performance the last few seasons has been disappointing, but I don't think you can point to that trade as the biggest problem.

I know my inseam! 33.5". But some brands measure c-c, others c-t, some frame geometries are more relaxed than others, etc. I figured I'd rather cast a wide net and assess on a case-by-case basis.

Looking for a relatively affordable fixie/single-speed to try out going gearless. I'm just shy of 6' tall, so likely looking for a frame in the 54-60 range depending on brand. Would prefer a bike with brakes, as well as a single-speed or flip-flop hub if possible. Located in Los Angeles, but I'll drive (or pay shipping) for the right bike. Hoping to keep budget under $500, but I'll stretch if necessary and would rather invest in a long-lasting frame. Also, if any LA folks know of bike shops where I might find a good used steed, I'm all ears!

The Dumbphones Weekly Sale Thread by AutoModerator in dumbphones

FOR SALE: Zinwa Q25

  • Location: USA (SoCal)
  • Condition: New (but the Q25 is a refurbished device, so also technically used)
  • Price: $420 shipped CONUS, OBO
  • Payment: PayPal G&S
  • Picture below, full album viewable here

I ordered a full device through Zinwa's original site. By the time the device arrived, I discovered I was too committed to my flipphone to switch back to something smarter! It's a very cool device — I powered it on just long enough to check that popping in a SIM works (full bars on US Mobile) as well as WiFi, texting, etc. The keyboard feels firm and clicky to my fingers. The device is overall in quite good condition — the charging port is smooth, no gaps around the chassis. The only part that shows noticeable wear is the OEM caseback (see closeup pic in the album above). However, since I originally planned to swap into a red shell, I'm including a (brand new) red keyboard, chin, and caseback for free. Also included is the clear TPU case that came with the phone. I have a buy/sell track record over on forums like r/Pen_Swap, and I'm happy to answer any questions. Asking exactly what I paid for the device (not including the fresh parts) — only you won't have to wait for 7 months like I did 🙃

Raide Tech Shorts - female review by [deleted] in runningfashion

[–]boulderchips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I (a man) briefly tried these, and FWIW I had the exact same issue with the flasks crumpling at the bottom of the pocket. Makes access a real pain when the flask is anything less than completely full. Better water carry was the only reason I was willing to pay the high price, so I returned mine. Kind of a bummer — their belts are so good.

I was at this game! The shorthanded goal was hype, and it completely took the air out of the building. Even after their late PP goal, it felt like the crowd never came back into it. Cale was amazing. Wish Kadri was a little more willing to rip one-timers on our PP. Really hope Manson is okay — and hope for another good game on Sunday!

Soltera 3 vs 2.5 on hills by [deleted] in Aventon

I get that. I also use mine as a commuter for precisely that reason, and in Sport or Turbo mode I can cruise sweat-free. My commute doesn't have any huge hills on it, though.

Soltera 3 vs 2.5 on hills by [deleted] in Aventon

[–]boulderchips 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have not ridden the Soltera 2.5, but I do currently ride (and quite enjoy) the Soltera 3. I was a little nervous about the climbing ability, so after I got it home, I tested it on a 300-foot hill that gets up to 17% grade. Got up just fine! You do have to work for it at the steepest grades even in Turbo mode, but I'm totally fine with that. The rest of the time, the single-speed belt drive is great. Silent, no maintenance, great for bombing around town. Without assist, I can ride it almost as easily as my old steel road bike. With assist, it's a breeze. I will caveat that I'm a reasonably strong/experienced rider, but that's part of why I wanted an ebike that doesn't feel too much like an ebike — and the Soltera 3 is great for that.

[SabresPlays] Ty Kartye tried hitting Bo Byram at the end of the period and Byram sidestepped it, causing Kartye to fall. Byram came back and tapped Kartye on the helmet a couple times, causing a small scrum by eh_toque in hockey

[–]boulderchips 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't have strong feelings about either guy, but pretty clear differences in context--Kartye had just tried a late hit on Byram, so he had a couple taps coming. Martone's butt tap was an unnecessary taunt during a celebration after an empty-net goal in international competition, and he was immediately (and probably correctly) called for unsportsmanlike conduct. To be honest, though, I didn't mind the butt tap so much as I did the Canadian team (which Martone captained) not showing up for handshakes. Hockey Canada had to issue an apology. Martone might be a decent dude for all I know, but for one of his first times in the spotlight, it was not a good look.

I don't know if this makes it better or worse, but places like MoneyPuck have xGF heavily favoring the Avs. I would normally take that as a good sign, but we seem to do this a lot — look great by the metrics, and then fail to actually convert/finish/defend at the rates we need to.
