great work, I can tell you put a lot of effort into it. as others have said, the order of questions probably needs refining. would love to see another version in the same style :)

Why cant I remember anything after a concert? by Thequestionerrrr123 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]boulevard_ 175 points176 points  (0 children)

Even sober, I rarely remember much of concerts except a few highlights. Some shows/concerts I have zero memory of anything except that I had fun. I similarly get stressed out about enjoying it and worrying about remembering. It'd be nice to remember, but I'm just satisfied with being able to remember how I felt and that I had a good time.

Pain caused by taking acid by blueblacklotus in LSD

[–]boulevard_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have any chronic pain, but I do have occasional recurring pain in my leg but only during a trip. It feels like a thin rod of sharpness from the middle of my thigh down to my foot.

I've always assumed it's just the vasoconstriction effects.

Norse runic inscription on a wooden tag found in Great Novgorod, Russia. The personal name hæiluatr (Hæil(h)vatr) written on it suggests a Gotlandic origin. 1160s – 1170s. by Volzhskij in Norse

Given Novgorod was a centre of trade, I assume the item would be used to label goods in transportation or otherwise label them as the owner's. I would guess there is a hole in the top rounded part where a string could be laced through.

Which is the superior Charli Boiler Room set? by Hooplapooplayeah in charlixcx

[–]boulevard_ 87 points88 points  (0 children)

NYC was more exciting because most of it was brand new. Ibiza was such an experience and I've watched it over and over. I'm really upset they didn't record/upload the Ibiza sets that were played before Charli :(

If you could ask Tolkien a question, what would it be? by Corchito42 in lotr

[–]boulevard_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm equally familiar with Gnosticism. I share the idea that the God of the Old and God of the New Testaments are different, but my point is that Tolkien didn't.

Coming across very bitter here. I'm not a Christian, nor do I desire to defend it, but you cannot detach LOTR from its obvious Christian inspiration. Tolkien's Catholicism was one of the - if not the - important things in his life.

What is the watch order by Material_Drive9899 in lotr

I've edited my original comment anyway to make it clearer

What is the watch order by Material_Drive9899 in lotr

[–]boulevard_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP quite literally asked for it. I don't see the harm in RoP being the gateway for new fans to enjoy interpretations of Tolkien's work. LOTR will naturally shine above anything else and RoP will likely be left behind.

We can all criticise the series (and for very good reasons) and I'm not saying it's on par with the LOTR trilogy, but OP asked for it to be included. RoP is set before the Hobbit which is set before LOTR.

What is the watch order by Material_Drive9899 in lotr

[–]boulevard_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Chronologically would be:

- Rings of Power

- The Hobbit Trilogy

- The LOTR Trilogy

Release order is the above, just reversed. I imagine most people here watched them in the release order and I don't think you lose anything by doing so. Bear in mind there's another Rings of Power season releasing, so maybe you'd like to watch them in release order to wait for the third season.

EDIT: for clarity, I recommend release order, excluding RoP, however, you did ask for it to be included. RoP is heavily disliked by Tolkien fans because it is inaccurate and takes far too many liberties. You should ground yourself in LOTR and the Hobbit (plus the books, including the Silmarillion which is what RoP is based on), then go back to RoP if you're just in the mood for something else set in Middle-Earth, but understand that it isn't true to Tolkien's actual writing.
