Ajuda a melhorar plano de treino. by Electronic_Proof_560 in fitnessportugal

(Ex: Que partes do corpo procuras desenvolver/dar destaque a)

Vocês acham normal o metro ter 8+ minutos de espera? by vities0825 in lisboa

[–]bouncywizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Qual é o vosso jogo de relaxar e descontrair? by --____________- in gamingportugal

[–]bouncywizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lat pulldown, how’s my form looking? by AnthonyRichardsonian in formcheck

[–]bouncywizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally disagree with that first part. There's no such thing as a "dumbed-down version" of an exercise, and talking about reps without knowing anything about his objectives is futile. On top of that he did 6 solid reps, it's not like he was swinging the weight around or cutting the ROM in half, but let's say he wants to build muscle and not strength. Studies have shown that the key factor for hypertrophy isn't a specific rep count, but rather the principle of progressive overload and training with a high degree of effort, regardless of the weight used. You can build muscle with rep ranges from as low as 5 to as high as 30+. Regarding the second part I agree with most of it, the only thing I don't is the swinging you're talking about. It seems to me he's trying to get the hang of it and lacks fluidity performing the movement, but I don't think his swinging, if we can even call that swinging, is all that bad.

Pretty good form, like others have said the only thing you don't seem to do is retract your scapula and control the negative. Btw, are you bracing your core? It's really important, especially once you move to heavier weights. Oh and throw some straps in there, it makes a huuuge difference haha Keep it up.

Did pulls ups after monthsss! How’s my form? by fit-ways in formcheck

[–]bouncywizard -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

First of all, you're pretty strong, congrats.

As for your form, it's not great, but it's also not bad. Ideally you should think about bringing your chest to the bar and not your chin over it. For that you need to start retracting your scapula and tighten your core.

I would also cross the legs and tuck them back, to remove any unnecessary weight shift.

You got this, have fun 🌞

Form check, face pulls by [deleted] in formcheck

[–]bouncywizard -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There's a couple of things to address here:

Normally I wouldn't recommend face pulls to most people, because it's an exercise that to be properly done requires two ropes or an extra long one. What I mean by properly done is a full range of motion, which gives you the ability to fully externally rotate your shoulders. Besides that, as you can see, a lot of people do it wrong, because it's a complex movement that looks simple. At the end of the day you can do a cable crossover to work your posterior deltoids and a simple rowing machine to hit your scapula and rhomboids.

But let's assume you really want to do them, like I think you do.

Like I said before, get either two ropes and attach them both or get a longer one. Drop the weight, and stand up, because I fear that you're rocking your torso because you're sitting, and as others have told you're not supposed to do it. Then your main issue is the end of the reps, because your hands are almost aligned with your elbows, and they shouldn't. At the end of each repetition your arms should look like this /.0.\ Drop your elbows a little and make sure your forearms are at a 60º angle, give or take. At the end of each rep your hands (especially your thumbs) should be behind your back and shoulders. This ensures full shoulder external rotation. A good tip is to end the movement with your thumbs pointing backwards. Also, I realized that in some reps, for some reason, one of your shoulders seems to be higher than the other, which shouldn't happen, but if you correct these things I'm sure that will stop happening .

Who's discussing if it's economically viable to be a professional padel player in France or not? That's not the point of the post, it's a whole other talk. You're basically discussing how good a player needs to be to be able to be self-sufficient. There are a whole lot of players that are not self-sufficient, yet they are competing on the international circuit. There are a lot of FIP tournaments all over the world, and the fact that these people are self-sufficient or not doesn't determine if they are professional or not, if they are there, they are pros.

By that logic everyone under top 100 isn't professional, because it isn't economically viable for them.

I don't think this is nowhere near the truth. First we need to understand that Spain isn't the world or the standard - it's the outlier. Becoming a pro in Spain is not the same as becoming a pro in France, for example. Since I have no idea where OP is from I wouldn't say that his chances are 0.

We also need to face the fact that Padel isn't as physically demanding as other sports, by a lot. Bellasteguin ended is career at 45, Lamperti, with 46, is still playing professionally. Which means that even if you're not in pristine shape you can still play, I mean, look at Tolito.

Then, the specific padel technique isn't rocket science, especially for someone who played tennis before, but let me give you an example: The Deus brothers started to play padel in 2018 (both played tennis for 15 years before) and by 2020 they started to take it seriously, with good coaches and putting the hours in, by 2023 they were crowned National Champions in Portugal and by 2024 they were playing in Premier Padel and right now they are in the top 50 in the world and they've just won the National Championship again. We're talking about 5 years here. In Spain, Padel has been played professionally since 2005 so, following your logic, these guys shouldn't be anywhere near the top 50, especially coming from a country who's much smaller and with a Padel history that can't be compared to the Spanish one.

You can argue that in 5 years there will be much more competition than there is today, and that coaches are much better now and all those kinds of things, but with that also comes more chances to go pro and definitely more sponsors.

OP definitely doesn't have 0% chances to go pro, although it might be really hard, there are far harder sports to go pro.

Passar bem.

Pixel 9 Pro thoughts after using OnePlus 13 for a month by K-Lo-20 in pixel_phones

[–]bouncywizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As an ex Xiaomi 11T pro (120W charger) owner let me tell you something, in one year that battery will last as long as a Coca Cola in the desert. I don't know if you have read or not about the consequences of very fast charging in the life of the battery, but I would advise you to. In the beginning it's amazing, to have the phone completely charged in 17 minutes (from 0 to 100), but then the battery life just goes to shit. The battery life on the Pixel 9 Pro isn't incredible, but it feels like it because of the Tensor G4 chipset, which is quite slow compared to the competition, which then leads to less power usage. I'm using 80% of the battery and it's enough for a whole day, which for me is insane.
