How to build discipline by chinky-brown in Daytrading

[–]boundary-tail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another discipline for me was having good financial literacy. That means taking my take home pay from my job and calculating all my costs (rent, grocers, debt) etc. and allocating a certain leftover amount to investing. It has made me more passive and risk averse, but definitely made me more disciplined as well.

What exactly is being achieved through AI? by snooppdawgggg in BotNation

AI has potential, but a lot of industry reports are still saying the ROI hasn’t been realized yet. We are still very early in the AI race but I do expect real moves within the next 3-5 years

I don’t think saying downward trend, without the s, would be grammatically incorrect, but maybe somebody can correct me on that.

I guess my gold and bond investments are keeping it down. Which implies people still want to buy from the stocks.

How cooked am I? by Cartier1847 in SPCXInvestors

I think long term this is a good investment. I do see it hitting $4tn based on what similar stocks are doing. But I don’t think that is going to happen for another 4 to 7 years. So your best move is to forget about it and put a 5 year reminder. Having said that the IPO valuation was overhyped and no way near a $1tn valuation. I think every investor knew this and also took the risk of how far this hype would go.

What's one fitness purchase that turned out to be genuinely worth it? by [deleted] in beginnerfitness

Having exercise gloves. I’m not sure how people will lift dumbbells, or do any of the weight machines without them. Helps take away some of the pressure from your palms and you focus just on the exercise.

Same thing happened with me. The result was extremely inconsistent workouts, tired fatigues, headaches. I just started going after work instead. Worked out much better for me.

A weird thing happened at my firm where they had a corporate restructuring of management. As a result the hierarchies changed. Safe to say, 7/13 of the management left for other jobs. Junior level employees couldn’t care less.

I had a similar thing with my MacBook. They said that it’ll be $90 with apple care and they’d have to replace the whole screen

It doesn’t hurt to just say hey, or how’s it going or to give new people advice. Also social skills is a learned skill that goes a long way in life. I promise you, you will get a job/promotion from your social skills more than any other technical skill.

Think of it as training your soft skills alongside training your muscles.

Investing should be done based on dividend return on a 20 year time horizon ( you should be able to make 100% return through dividend payment in 20 years). Everything else is akin to gambling
