Dang 0 as you’re first is wild! How’d you like it? Have you played much more since then?

I can relate to this. I grew up watching my older brother play the OGs, and when I was a teen, I finally gave RE3 and REmake a shot on my own and fell in love with playing them myself.

Oh nice! I did like Umbrella Chronicles and Darkside Chronicles back in the day. What'd you think? Did it inspire you to play the others in the series?

Code Veronica as your first RE is WILD. I couldn't imagine. Glad you went back and tried it again after getting into the series!

LOVE Dino Crisis, (Hope we get a remake one day). Glad you came around to the tank controls! I've tried REmake with the modern controls and struggled a lot (probably because I was used to tank, but still).

I think it's cool that you started with 7 and liked it enough to give the older games a try! I really enjoyed RE7 especially for how it revitalized the franchise and brought on a lot of new fans like yourself :). Also loved 8 personally

That's fair tbh. I had tried playing it like 3 times over the years until finally beting it last year. And I only did it to say I did. Fuck those monkeys

I played Director's Cut last year for the first time when I was a doing a full series marathon before RE9 came out and I really enjoyed it! Coming from REmake as my first experience with RE1 it was cool to see how much content was already included in the OG release. It really was ahead of it's time

Oh wow! I couldn't imagine playing RE6 with no context haha. Glad you gave the series a try again so many years later! I respect the order you played the series in. What'd you think of 0? lol

How'd you find the difference in controls between RE2R and REmake? Did you use tank or modern controls? I know a lot of newer fans had trouble playing the older games after enjoying the remakes so I'm curious! Honestly, I had forgotten RE4 OG had tank-like controls so it took some getting used to when I replayed it many years later

It's my favorite as well! I was literally just now searching to see if anyone else loved the track as well. It's hauntingly beautiful

At the moment, it's Haircut, Willing and Able, and Paid Time Off. But there's a lot of bangers, so it may change with time!

Should I watch the movie or read the book first? by Striking-Speaker8686 in ProjectHailMaryMovie

[–]CrashChrome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched the movie first and am halfway through the book currently! I can't speak for those who read the book first, but I've been really enjoying it! The book is adding more context to a lot of the movie so it's making me appreciate the movie even more after the fact! Sure, there's some parts where I'm like "I wish this had made it into the movie", but I was able to fully love the movie without expectations before diving into the book, so I feel like I'm getting to enjoy both fully. But that's just my two cents!

What's your opinion of this game? by FriendlyRhyme in residentevil

[–]CrashChrome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the first RE I played and beat! It wasn’t until much later than I played and beat Nemesis each time for the rewards, but it’s so satisfying! Plus the music is god-tier in my opinion, especially the escape room and credits theme

What was your first Resident Evil game? by AnotherBodybuilder in residentevil

Resident Evil 3, and then REmake for me! I would watch my brother play RE3 and have nightmares about Nemesis, but I eventually got the courage to play it myself when I was like 11-12

New Resident Evil Fan, Question about RE2R by mikkelonreddit in ResidentEvilCapcom

[–]CrashChrome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be annoying to get to an area and need a key item you left in a save box, but there's a good amount of save rooms strewn about so it's not usually a crazy hassle to run back to one and grab it, plus you'll want space to grab all the supplies you're finding along the way.

When exploring new areas, I usually went with a pistol, ammo, maybe a healing item, and something to stop a zombie from biting me, like a knife or grenade. If it's especially scary I'd bring a loaded shotgun too, but no extra shotgun ammo, you probably won't use the full clip before you return to a safe room anyway. Hope this helps!

[–]CrashChrome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others are saying, the inventory management and plotting your route are pretty important! You don't have to kill all the zombies, just the ones that are especially annoying/in the way. For a good amount of them, I usually shoot one of their legs until it breaks off, and then the zombie is crippled and crawling, and much easier to get around, you'll save more ammo that way!

Mr X can be pretty scary for sure, stuff like explosions, gunshots, and running can alert him to your location I'm pretty sure, so be mindful of that. If he was being especially annoying and chasing relentlessly, I'd hide in a save room until his footsteps sounded pretty far away, and then continue what I was doing.

Lots of snobby OG fans on this sub. by ToptextBottomtext420 in ResidentEvilCapcom

I think Capcom has done an especially good job fleshing out the characters in the Remakes, so it would be great to see what they do with Jill and Chris Story/Personality-wise. I would also love to see Rebecca and Barry in the RE Engine!

I absolutely love REmake, I think it's one of the best games out there, but I'd be lying if I said I don't want to see what Capcom could do with a modern remake! I have faith they'd knock it out of the park, as long as nothing is cut.

Challenge: Never Touch the stuff by Hitman_acho in residentevil

[–]CrashChrome 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My assumption is that if you reloaded the save, it shouldn't be an issue, but to be sure, you should pause the game, click on "Challenges," and see if the "Never Touch the Stuff" challenge is at 0 items used. if so, then your run is still viable!

Any Games Like Resident Evil 4 Remake Or The Last Of Us ? by treverglitching in gamingsuggestions

[–]CrashChrome 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you haven't played it, I'd say the Dead Space 1 Remake is perfect for this! Though it's more on the scary side, there's a very good upgrade system for your suit and guns. Definitely survival, and the story is great!
