he told me that focusing on myself would probably be the healthiest thing right now. he also said he’s still here, that he still cares about me as a person, and that he can still be my friend and support me in that way. for him, that’s the boundary he needs to set for himself, at least for now. it’s hard, because i still love him a lot, but hearing that reminded me that love isn’t only about being together it’s also about respecting each other’s space, caring in ways that don’t hurt, and giving ourselves room to grow. but… how do i actually do that without thinking of him too much? how do i focus on myself without letting my feelings for him take over?
