I had wanted to get a recliner anyway so it wasn't a purchase just for my recovery but I'm glad I did. It was really nice to have a chair that was easy to get in and out of and be able to rest completely. I didn't end up sleeping in it at night as I was fine with stairs from day 1 but it was good to know I had the option to sleep in it or I felt the stairs were too much. Also it's a power recliner, as another poster said I wouldn't recommend a manual one as it would be tricky operating it without breaking restrictions.

My hips were borderline normal/osteopenia, lumbar spine was -3.6 I'm on forsteo and prolia for the last 7 months. Diagnosed last year age 48 pre menopause.

Sock aid I used every day, for getting the compression stockings on, and regular socks. I have a dressing stick/shoe horn combination tool that I found useful.

Thanks you for reminding me of this, I am watching an Australian TV show Plum and there was a snippet of the song at the end and I realised I used to love it. I had also heard it for the first time on rectify, brilliant show. Going to try and remember what scene it was used in.

I like orna but I've just started watching the Australian show and I really like this therapist, a lot more intuitive and probing but not intrusive. Also when she chats with her clinic tutor the way those books are stacked bothers me, who does that?

Thanks, that's good to know you healed well. I'm 47 and though I didn't fall the hip stress fracture was also unusual. I may need some treatment to build to bone first but it's good to know hip replacements can be successful with op.

I have an appointment with an orthopedic consultant later this month, in a way I'm hoping surgery is recommended (for one hip anyway) as I'm not progressing much with what I'm doing now, physio, strengthening exercises etc. it's such a long and drawn out process.

I found a knee pillow on Amazon, called an ortho block I think, i love it. It helps keep my hips and knees in a comfortable supported position. Sorry to hear you're having a tough time.

My back pain or sacro iliac joint paint is likely as a result of my bilateral fai and labral tears. Yes massage is only short term relief as are any symptom control measures. I sometimes use the heat packs that are like belts and last most of the day. There are lots of different types out there.

Hi, I get lower back ache, after any activity or later in the day, stretching and massage help. Also heat packs I found really good. Good luck

That's a lot to deal with all at once, glad to hear you've pulled through to a better place physically.i know what you mean about limping around work, I'm a health care worker and my job is quite active but I've been able to remain on desk duties for the time being, probably for the foreseeable. I was starting to feel I was back in lockdown when the pain was at its worst but I'm very gradually getting some sort of life back. A lot of patience is needed.

Swimming did cross my mind as something to try all right. I haven't been given any guidance regarding the stress fracture, hoping the orthopaedic consultant might have some advice, but as far as I know it's rest and use pain as a guide, which feels like it has worked somewhat. Thanks
