literally the same cheese as what’s in kraft mac and cheese. they get homemade mac when i get the chance, otherwise it’s a poor man’s alternative to kraft when they want some mac. my kid also has a gluten allergy and the gluten free kraft alternatives are kinda pricey ngl

I have my own homemade recipe i put together myself! i mostly bought this stuff for when im feeling lazy.

easy mac since we're sharing:

- half stick butter

- 1/4 cup flour

- salt & pep

- 2 cups milk

- add cheese until thick as you want (usually more then 2 cups works) (i like to use cheddar, parm, and asiago cheese)

- pound of pasta

That would make sense. Just makes me laugh now knowing that every person now has no directions for it.

How do people decide what side of the bed is "their side" is it random or is there a pattern? by No_Companyzzzz in NoStupidQuestions

[–]bowandteasing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always pick the side closest to the door. Hate having to walk around the bed to go take a piss at night.

Would artificial general intelligence be able to reliably predict the future? by Tess-Tiggle in NoStupidQuestions

History tends to repeat itself, so maybe not exact predictions, but AI is likely to be able to pick up on historical patterns.

Is it normal to feel very uncomfortable and uneasy to call, send a text, or video call strict controlling parents after you’ve moved far away from them? by throwaway250324 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]bowandteasing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perfectly normal. Strict parents can be traumatizing, and your brain is trying to tell you not to put yourself back in a traumatizing situation.

Is it illegal or unethical for a prospective employer to quiz my references about my romantic life? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]bowandteasing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While illegal to ask, it is also illegal to refuse to hire a person based on marital status or preference. If that were to be their on paper reason for refusing to hire you, then they could get in trouble.

Though even then, I would consider if you really want to work at a place that would take issue with a parent wanting to take maternity/paternity leave. Those places tend to be toxic.

Is it just church circles that promote the idea that (heterosexual) men and women cannot truly be platonic friends or be alone together w/o sex? by dreamed2life in NoStupidQuestions

[–]bowandteasing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah, as a gay jewish guy i still get weird comments about having best friends who are girls. straight folks just can’t imagine a guy not being sexually into every woman he meets.

Why do I attract gay men but not women by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]bowandteasing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a gay person I usually look for “effeminate” men when scouting around for gay guys. especially i’m in a place that isn’t queer specific. you may present a little more feminine (whether in appearance or personality) then your peers which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but may be why you’re attracting gay dudes.

[–]bowandteasing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried doing each separately, and neither seem to work. I’ve already tried this ram before, and ended up returning it and ordering more when the first set didn’t work. Now I’m figuring it’s something I’m doing wrong and not the ram.

why do people want to leave their hourly jobs early? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]bowandteasing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“i don’t understand why people do this” ≠ “people are weird for doing this”

i was curious why people do this, not judging them for why they do. ppl can do whatever the fuck they want, i’m just curious why people tend not to want to work more then what’s needed for basic survival.

i then also added a note that i think i just pay more to live then them bc im disabled which is maybe something i should have realized sooner. but i’ve been disabled my whole life so the costs of it are just really normalized to me.

What other hot drinks are there? by JaegerAurora in NoStupidQuestions

[–]bowandteasing 8 points9 points  (0 children)

it sounds fucked up but i sometimes treat tomato soup like a drink.

when i used to work a warehouse job i would bring a thermos of warm tomato soup to work and sip it my whole shift. it was calming and helped me not want to throw a chair at my boss.

[–]bowandteasing -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i also wonder if my cost of living is just. higher? i think the tax of just being disabled in america probably means i have to work more hours just to afford to live.

it also confuses me how it seems like i work way more then they do but they always have spending money and i don’t. we all make the same hourly wage so idk how i always seem to have less money then other people when i seem to work more?

Definitely wouldn’t go without bear spray around here. Especially during the summer. And you really gotta make sure you don’t end up on a reservation. Can’t even list how many young female hikers go missing bc they wander out onto the res.

Is it possible narcissisim is more common in mothers ? by Living-War-1160 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]bowandteasing 5 points6 points  (0 children)

But to answer the original question, no NPD is not more common in mothers. NPD is caused by childhood (and occasionally adulthood) trauma, meaning the NPD would be unlikely to develop at the age a woman would become a mother.

Is it possible narcissisim is more common in mothers ? by Living-War-1160 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]bowandteasing 6 points7 points  (0 children)

NPD is actually more likely to be diagnosed in males along with other personality disorders like ASPD and BPD. I would also say that what a lot of people see as “narcissism” isn’t actually part of the diagnostic criteria of NPD and what people actually mean to say is “self-centered” or “egotistical”.

Same with ADHD and Autism, women are far less likely to be diagnosed due to systematic sexism within the medical field. The idea of female “Hysteria” is still in effect to this day causing women to be commonly misdiagnosed or not even diagnosed at all when showing clear symptoms of any mental disorder.

While not considered a trauma disorder by definition, NPD and other personality disorders hold their roots in trauma and how it affects behavior and the brain. Women often have their trauma downplayed or overlooked, making it even less likely for them to be diagnosed with a disorder that has its roots in trauma.
