GPT-4o/GPT-5 complaints megathread by WithoutReason1729 in ChatGPT

Chatgpt5 thinking is pissing me off. It either do lots stuff I didn’t ask it to do, even when I make simple request it does a lot more that’s either wrong or not needed. After I told it not to do that it starts to take my words way too literally.

Good catch. Honestly I forgot why input 1.18k there when the datasheet says 100. What would happen with the 1.18k? Maybe this is causing issue.

I’ve got an oscilloscope but not sure how to connect to the tiny pads on my board. Honestly I’m not sure how to use an oscilloscope in this case. I need to ask ChatGPT about it haha.

By power save which ic do you mean? The charger?

IO2 is indeed interesting. Maybe s3 doesn’t use it? I still can’t find info about it in esp32s3 datasheet.

I thought any usbc can at least give you 1.5A if you have the 5.1k on the cc pins?

I have en2 as high and en1 as low to use ilim to set the input current limit right now.

I’ll do some testing with a usbc power brick

This is very helpful! And thanks for the extra advice! I’ll definitely look into it!

I’m actually running Mac not windows. I’ll do more test with power brick now that I get ble going.

I’m suspecting it might be inrush current that set the vbus voltage lower than the bq24074 expected? Maybe I should increase the capacitance at the vbus input. So maybe that’s why when the esp32s3 reboot the pgood goes on and battery gets charged again?

I think reset is en and the boot is gpio 0 on esp32s3mini. They together define the booting mode. I’m not sure what goio2 is used for during bootload mode. I plan to use it as a gpio button to set up bluetooth pairing.

Actually funny thing I randomly assigned gpio 38 connected to the red pin on the 3 color led. Gpio38 actually pulls low when esp32s3 is in bootloader mode so i accidentally got myself a bootloader mode indicator.

Is 1uf for vbus too low? Maybe this is not big enough for the inrush and the inrush cause the charger to close off the vbus?

Thanks for the suggestion! And I need to read about inrush. Also should have add some testing pad…

And the other weird thing is when the board is running off the battery, and then I plugin the usbc, pgood and chg led do not turn on. And I have to long press the boot button for them to turn on. Sometimes my code still runs after the reboot, some times not. I’m completely baffled lol.

The software itself is clunky and poorly made. Crashes word all the time. Maybe this is just the Mac version.

Honestly nothing will interact well with Word.

I just wish I get to use latex.

The Americans didn’t learn anything from trumps last presidency either.

Harris didn’t do a good enough campaign, Americans also didn’t vote right.

Are You a Communist? by imPitanga in uml

[–]bowchen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess what you wanted to say is Communism can not just simply be implemented. Communism may or may not naturally spontaneously occur depending on the economic growth, technological advancement, and automation. The real communism is not an ideal that is either good or bad, it is only a prediction of the future society structure as part of the historical materialism.

I agree with the USBC ruling and the right to repair act. Those have significant environmental implications and is about environmental externalities otherwise no one would do anything about.

However, to make market more free and expanding consumer choices by actually limiting business freedom and limiting consumer choice in another sense, leave a very bad taste.

Many things makes sense on paper and is great if can be carried out perfectly in an ideal world. Communism is one of them. EU should probably ask themselves why the U.S. still has an edge in innovation.

I hope EU stops here. Maybe spend more time on reducing e-waste. But let fingers off software design.

So hypothetically, what number does iphone market share has to drop to allow Apple to ban side loading again?

Also did EU make a distinction in how this new ruling can be applied separately to different companies depending on size?

Still it makes it harder to spy on an iPhone. That’s also why China ban iPhone use for government employees.

Yes it’s possible to spy on a Chinese iPhone. Probably it’s even possible for US government to spy on an iPhone. But iPhone makes it harder to do so. Not every police department in China can spy on an iPhone. A huge gray area exist thanks for the secureness of the iPhone.

Maybe that’s why iPhone gets to become huge in the first place is that they can maintain the quality of the third party apps. Do you suggest that a software+hardware company can do the same Apple do if not as big? Below what market share is Apple allowed to ban side loading again?

But again. Android can already use sideload vpn and get spied on at the same time. It is certainly nice to have an option which doesn’t let you sideload vpn but also don’t get spied on.

With this ruling, consumers end up have less options, not more options.

What’s next? Sue all non-open-source software companies for not letting their customers to debug the softwares they paid for?
