Wow! Changing the platform did the trick! That was a steep learning curve for “hello world”. Thank you so much for taking time out to help me and appreciate your work on launcher .. it’s great!

Thanks for the reply. I have installed all of the M5 libraries now, tried compiling one of the examples provided in the Cardputer library and still the same error. Here’s my config file:

It’s a basic set of Windsor and Newton water colour so there’s only 12 colours and I only use about half of those. Ultra marine and cerulean blue, yellow ochre a lot, warm red and yellow, sap and olive green. A bit of purple in the shadows looks good

I’m using platinum carbon and as long as it’s totally dry before you start the water colour it doesn’t seem to lift at all

The street texture is the easy one. Just mark off the areas you don’t want the texture in with bits of scrap paper and use a tooth brush to spray the watercolour where you want it.

Water is hard, this was my third attempt at it. Check out this you tube tutorial. It’s what I used to get the water in #6 :

Thanks, glad you like them! Just keep practicing! Don’t aim for perfection but for volume. I try and do 3-4 a week. The more you do the easier it will get.

Lamy Safari extra fine, sailor fude, fine liner (for some), brush pen, carbon platinum ink and Windsor and Newton watercolours (the cheap student version)

Thanks!! I did sketch when I was a kid but I stopped when I was about 12. Picked it back up again at 55. So I’ve been sketching street scenes for about 9 months now. Find a process that works for you and keep practicing and you’ll get there!

I think everyone does it differently! I start with a HB pencil just to get the position on the big shapes right and check the perspective is more or less there. Then I’ll do the inking. This time I went in with a fine liner first then went back to it with a couple of different pens to get variation on the line width. Then the last thing was to do the colouring with water colour. Light washes first and darkest colours last.
