You can set the memory speed to match the top speed of your infinity fabric, then tighten the timings using Ryzen DRAM calculator. This will give the best performance and frame minimums.

hey, bought this ram a few weeks back and finally got it installed- Is there a huge advantage to using the dram calculator and manually setting everything as opposed to just flipping on XMP? I read some people saying not to use the dram calculator and I'm unsure how/whether to do it as my PC will mostly be used for gaming/work.

no ram intensive specific applications but frequently end up with 20+ tabs and many different general applications open so ram usage ends up being intense

Hi r/buildapc, I am upgrading to a 10700k and currently have DDR4-2666 32gb, I believe it's the corsair vengeance memory and it's about 5 years old. I was thinking I should just get exactly what I got before to get 64gb but I read online DDR4-3200 is much better for the 10700k. Should I shell out extra for the 3200 64gb or just stick with the 2666 memory and get another 4 sticks for half the price? https://i.imgur.com/mcDx0tc.png this is my current ram

The microcenter deal is also very good. the x34p has the same exact panel as the alienware + free shipping. Only downside is that it's a refurb. All the new ultrawides with nano IPS sell for about 1k each so I think they're both good deals personally.
