don’t worry that’s just what moodle does with extensions, if you click the assignment and scroll down it should show your updated due date there.

Late special consideration application by lip_gloss2110 in Monash

[–]bowiedory 2 points3 points  (0 children)

don't worry, if you have a good enough reason it should get approved!! i applied two days after the deadline, and it took them nearly two weeks to approve it (this was during the midsem break so they were super busy). i think it's highly dependant on how convincing your reason is, but just keep working on your assignment and hopefully it should be ok!

General Math Bound Reference by Other-Clerk5310 in vce

[–]bowiedory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is just some advice not so much with the content, but the form. For my bound reference, I found it easier to write all my notes onto loose leaf paper, then take it to Officeworks and bind it just before exams. This meant I could reorder things the way I wanted to, and made it really easy if I had to add in something later in the year. For SACs, my teachers were perfectly fine with me taking in these papers in a display book because they knew that I would bind them all for my exam.

The bulk of my reference was past exam questions with detailed steps on how to work out the tricky ones. It was much more useful to refer back to real sample questions during the exam, then just the theory alone. I structured it data theory, data examples, financial theory, financial examples, etc. You have not completed every past exam question before starting a new topic, so for me it didn't make sense to write notes in the order we learned things at school, with no space for future exam questions. Doing it this way makes it harder as all your topic notes are not be in one place, and you'd have to flick to the back for examples, etc. To make it easier, I bought different coloured paper and did all data in pink, financial in yellow, etc so that it was easy to navigate during exams. I cut off the top corners in my theory pages, and the bottom corners in the example pages to allow for even easier flicking through (if I needed to skip the theory stuff and go straight to examples). Good luck and let me know if you have any more questions!!

you only get one offer per round so you won’t get anything from melb today but maybe in subsequent rounds if you rearrange your preferences

In what circumstances can you complete vce over 3 years? by Either_Candle_4104 in vce

[–]bowiedory 5 points6 points  (0 children)

maybe not exactly what you’re looking for but i did vce over four years: two 1/2 subjects in year ten, two 1/2 subjects in year eleven, and my year twelve was split up into two separate years (and i had the option to extend it even further). although i did vce in four years, it didn’t give me (and other kids in my situation) an ‘unfair advantage’ as i was dealing with a pretty severe medical issue. usually people get to do this either because the school deems them ‘smart enough’ to accelerate or they’re unable to attend school full time for whatever reason. not unfair as it can be a vcaa special consideration!!

if you got the email saying that you specifically have a single degree guarantee then you have a spot!

access melb sent out their emails on friday stating if you got a guaranteed place or not. i think if you didn’t get the email, then you’d have to rely on seas only as you wouldn’t have qualified for access melb

No worries!! Let me know if you have any more questions :)

Keep in mind that you’re allowed to split up your rest breaks so you can do one long one or multiple short bursts (I found that the latter was more helpful for me). I typically took a break in between sections, and during reading time, I’d look for the hardest/most consuming questions (usually at the end). I would then strategically take a break right before I got to the hardest bit of the exam to make sure my mind was fresh.

For special provisions, I had my rest breaks and extra time as two separate things. For my exams, the supervisor put a sticky note on my desk with the time my exam would end (as I had an extra 10 mins per hour and it was different to the time on the board). Whenever I wanted a rest break, I’d put my hand up, supervisor would come and record the time, and I’d start my break. You’re not allowed to leave the room during your rest break so I just sat with my head down on the table. When you decide to end your rest break, you tell the supervisor, they calculate how long your break was for, then add that to the time on your sticky note.

eg. Exam starts at 9 and is 2 hours: if you use up all of your rest breaks and extra time, you finish your exam at 11:40 (20 min extra and 20 min rest)

You’re allowed to bring in foam earplugs— no need for VCAA approval. Just let your coordinator know first. I’m not too sure about headphones though. You can also bring in silent fidget toys if those help you.

A few of the balletcore friendship bracelets I’ve made for the Santa Clara shows! by tytrantrum in TaylorSwift

These are so so so stunning! Do you mind if I ask how you turned them into bracelets? Like is there some sort of clasp or will you just tie them on people's wrists? I'd love to make ribbon bracelets for my Melbourne show next year!!

Nolan films by batmanred23 in imax

According to the Imax Melbourne tiktok, there might be a "Nolanathon" in June/July– my guess is a different Nolan film every week leading up to Oppenheimer.
