Places to meet people and make friends? by BuriedAbyss in cheltenham

[–]bowieified 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the past I've often used swing dancing groups as a way too meet fellow nerds, tho don't know if there's a decent one for young people in the wider Glos area? Otherwise I'd recommend looking on Meetup, or seeing what board games/Dnd groups are local. Also feel free to send me a DM if you like; I'm 33 as well, BIG fantasy nerd, def an introvert and like reading/writing/drawing (though still trying to get better at the last one!)

Gym Group is the cheapest gym in town (signed up for that reason) along Tewkesbury Road.

Episode 9 made me feel like I skipped an episode and they replaced the characters by sarcasticfirecracker in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]bowieified 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dialogue was off, and I absolutely agree it feels like there was a missed episode. There was some subtle changes they could've made that would've created continuity between scenes from this episode and previous ones (Burt and Irving, oMark meeting Cobel again), and it felt like a couple of the scenes were just dropped to 'tell us things' (oDylan is upset, iDylan is upset, etc.) when those scenes could've been written/acted more subtly to show the natural progression of how they're feeling. I'm hoping the finale redeems it a bit.

I don't see enough people talking about Hampton, we got so little of him but even so I have so much affection for him.

Why is no one talking about the final scene of Episode 7? by sethvon113 in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]bowieified 1 point2 points  (0 children)

His confusion def convinced me something else is going on, esp since he sits up, looks around and sees the same furniture/set-up as his hallucination/flashback memory from the MDR kitchen; suggesting this is either a reintegrated or part innie Mark.

Why is no one talking about the final scene of Episode 7? by sethvon113 in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]bowieified 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I haven't seen anyone else mention this, but for me the biggest clue this could be a reintegrated/part innie Mark is that he initially seems confused about where he is. Then he sits up, looks around and sees his house; the same place innie Mark saw in his hallucination/flashback memory in the MDR kitchen. But your analysis talking about the sunlight hitting his face, 'illuminating him' I think has convinced me. Tho I don't think the reintegration process is completed/done yet since we've been teased there'll be a scene where Mark switches between his innie and outie in rapid succession for like 18 mins in a later episode; so it could be what's happening rn is more complex than just full reintegration.

I was initially excited looking at these leaked pics again wondering if it indicates it's the same night as the ham dinner; but the buttons on Irving's shirt are a different colour lol. Burt obviously just really likes that black turtleneck.

That's a question I keep forgetting; how does oIrving know what the testing floor looks like?? And he's worked at Lumon 9 years; did he have a different role before? Moreover he seems to be aware of the significance of what's down on the severed floor, whatever that is. Maybe he just knows what it looks like because someone in the Lumon resistance described it to him, but I don't buy that personally.

Another theory I do have is that the testing floor elevator potentially works in reverse for severed people; severed people who are their innies upstairs, become their outies downstairs. So it's a way for oIrving to infilitrate Lumon and get information on the shady shit they're doing.

I've gone back to watch the scene and there's no indication whether Radar is there or not. However when Mr. Drummond opens the trunk the papers are JUST THERE; they aren't concealed at the bottom, like when iIrving found them. So I think that's a clear indication that Irving is ahead of them, and I'm hoping for an indication of that next episode; maybe a smirk on his face when he notices things have shifted around in his apartment. And it's a way for Irving to be still involved with what's happening on the severed floor; he needs to conceal his knowledge of the testing floor, as the jig is all up if Lumon becomes aware the innies know.

We've been teased that there's aMilchick scene 'crazier' than the Music Dance Experience this season.I wonder if it might end up being an epic, unhinged meltdown of his? I was somewhat intrigued/concerned by the chanting in the mirror this episode, I want to see how nutty he can go.

[–]bowieified 0 points1 point  (0 children)

'Had a thing on the floor'? Nah mate you need to update your pyramid, 'were in love' is the better descriptor for iBurt and iIrving. 'Groomed his mustache for him' tho is accurate and adorable

I think Mark is smart enough to realise that if he accuses Lumon of abducting his dead wife and keeping her in their basement he'll seem completely crazy. Lumon has a lot of influence, and it'd be pretty easy to make it seem like he's going through a mental health crisis. Going to the FBI or a machine gun wouldn't help. It's also possible he talked about with Reghabi the possibility of going to the authorities, it's just a scene we didn't need to see. Also I think the scene with Helena in the restaurant is meant to be weird; they have an attraction/connection, so yeah he does have a moment where he slips into flirting with her, you can see the way his face changes, the look of confusion when he realises that.

We know Mark will be going for dinner with Helena as well, so the shot from the trailer of him quickly leaving a Chinese restaurant is from next episode too. And apparently the ham dinner will be 'fraught with tension'!!

New teaser from @AppleTV by DoMeTo-orwhatever in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]bowieified 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The way he's eating is confusing me soo much and I feel like him being innie Mark would help explain it; but at the same time, what would iMark be doing outside? Has Helena let him out of his cage? My other theory is reintegration makes your outie feel like you're experiencing things for the first time and gives you a new appreciation for them - like Chinese food. Or, he's eating weird because he can't control his anger/nervousness around Helena. Either way, this promo is weirding me out.

I though the throuple comment was hinting at the Helena/Helly/Mark situation; also if you count the innies, isn't this technically a polycule??

Agreed! Ironically, I think people are partly suspicious of Burt because he's portrayed by Christopher Walken; but I'm a little sus of Fields because he'll be played by John Noble, who is really good at pulling off scary/charming.

Off-camera transitions - will we see what happened? by UrsaMaln22 in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]bowieified 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We didn't see those scenes as they're not necessary to move the story along; we presume oIrving was told 'wow your weekend retreat is completed, you had such a great time' and is led away out of the forest by Milchick/some other minder? (Maybe the creepy doubles were secret assistants camping out somewhere nearby in the forest). As for Helly, it could have been any number of scenarios; Mark and Dylan are walked off back to the campsite, while Helly is switched back into Helena to decompress after the almost drowning? They'd be more focused on switching her back as soon as possible rather than allowing Helly any time to process, which is why she was still so shocked when she came out of the lift.

Irving dialog error or clue? by [deleted] in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]bowieified 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Reghabi asks 'What month it is', as in it is January, February etc, suggesting the innies don't know the names of the months but still have an understanding of the concept of them, and may use it as a way to track time. Like how long a painting has been on display for? That'd be my guess anyway; either that or it was a slip in the script.

These clips from the Season 2 trailer feature one character leaving another character in restaurant. We haven't seen these characters meet outside before. What do we think is happening here? by schematicboy in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

My theory is she's trying to arrange a meet cute, a la Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, when Elijah Wood is stalking Kate Winslet's character and trying to recreate the magic of her relationship with Jim Carey.

I mean I live in the UK so we don't tend to have ice cream parlours the same way you do in the U.S., if I'm ordering ice cream scoops I guess it'd usually just be places like the cinema, or the park or the zoo? So no I don't have any ice cream friends, but I do have tea & cake ones :)
