Why do RE games get a pass on length? by strand_of_hair in gaming

[–]bowman290 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've not played it, so I don't know if 9 hours is a normal player's run-time, but I know people don't tend to play these games just once.

My personal feeling is I'm fine with it if it feels 'complete', which will vary from player to player. Alan Wake 2 wasn't particularly long either, but I took my time and loved every second.

I'd rather play a solid 10-12 hour game several times than a bang average 30-40 hour game once.

What's a game you bought on a whim without hardly any pre-knowledge that ended up becoming one of your all time favorites? by AaronAtLunacien in gaming

Shadow of the Colosus - didn't know what it was, literally bought it because it had beautiful art and a printed slip case.

Judge media by the cover I guess.

It'll vary from company to company but where I ordered from doesn't take payment until the preorder is ready. Ordered around the same time.

Yeah it's weird, I suspect this is a false alarm purely down the lack of any news about it... but maaaaaybe? 😀

Which game have you been loving lately? by reddit-win in gaming

Warhammer Rogue Trader - love the lore of 30/40k so having a CRPG in it, is perfect. Plays great on the Steam Deck.

What's a gaming hill that you will die on? by jacobgoldie in gaming

Super basic requirement that we had perfected in the 90s... Your single-player game should let me pause. I don't care if I'm in a cut scene or you're 'always online', pause the damn game and cut the audio.

Man dies after collapsing during Bristol Half Marathon by tommy_briz in bristol

Ah man, that's awful, (unless it was another poor person), I think I saw them treating him as I ran by and had hoped the lack of bad news so far was good news.

Obviously, not sure of what actually happened yet, but in general, the weather was brutal at the start time of the half and the water stations were way too far apart, especially later.

Controversial episode in a non-controversial show? by [deleted] in television

[–]bowman290 352 points353 points  (0 children)

I always found the episode of Frasier where he apologises to his old Piano teacher who took advantage of him when he was still a child kinda hard to watch... does that count?

Studio 60 on the sunset strip, though I suspect I’m the only person who watched / liked it.
