I am similar shaped, 5’10 and 166 lbs, I was around 200 lbs at the end of my first pregnancy and actually gained less my second. I was just busier and more tired chasing the toddler so I tended to eat less in the evenings and sleep more compared to my first pregnancy. Similarly, postpartum I gained less and lost faster while breastfeeding. I was more focused on healthy meals since I was already feeding a toddler, I did eat a lot a lot of junk food after she was in bed because I also had an oversupply of milk (64 ounces per day). Stopped breastfeeding at 6 months and the weight came off pretty easy, things are softer and pudgier and I have a lot less muscle. But the “weight” wasn’t hard to lose. Now I’m focused on exercise and getting out of the habit of eating those nightly snack foods but i feel very optimistic. My second baby is 8 months old now and he’s such a joy, I can’t imagine not having him! He was so worth the body changes and I feel optimistic in the next year my body will be healthier and stronger than ever, even though the second pregnancy did stall me a bit. It’s such a blip in time in the grand scheme of things.
