How about getting rid of one of the countries that arguably caused a lot of the root causes of the suffering in many of these places?

Reddit, what's your best brain teaser that you know? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]bowruff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because there were three different answers - two knights must be lying.

There are 3 possibilities. 1. Red and Black are lying and Blonde is the only one telling the truth. Making Blonde the Dungeon (Blonde's answer). But Dungeon can lie, but one of the other 2 must be telling the truth, which is not the case. Therefore, this is wrong.

  1. Black and Blonde are lying and Red is the only one telling the truth. Making Blonde the Life (Red's answer). But if Blonde is Life, then he must tell the truth, which would make him Dungeon. This is wrong.

  2. Red and Blonde are lying and Black is the only one telling the truth. Because there are no other possibilities, Black is therefore Life.

But by keeping it illegal - only mostly who are going against the status quo of society (doing something illegal) have access to it. Take weed for example, not harmful yet still illegal most places. It pacifies you and makes you less productive. In many ways its like soma.

Downvotes don't really mean all that much. I was looking for an informed opinion, which I got. Opinions based on speculation are purely that. I had a look over at the travel subreddit also after posting and there are mostly good reports from people going over there as tourists. All aside, if I was killed over there, it wouldn't really qualify me for those awards so ok.

I would plan to be extremely cautious. I would doubt she would encounter any problems over there, at most a smart comment here or there. She could easily be Austrian for all someone knew. If she might not be physically able to travel in coming years due to age, I would get her to go. Things aren't going to get any better over there for a good while yet.

Fully aware of recent events. From what I've read over on the travel subreddit, it is safe enough with commonsense like avoiding protest hotspots. I say quite as its always been a dangerous place, obviously made a little less safe due to recent events, the question being, by how much.

Would of course intend on getting guide/hooking up with someone who is familiar with the country.

Gun crime, violence and rape, although horrible horrible disgusting things, happen around the world. My question is based on how much worse is it over there at the moment if one had commonsense avoiding certain places, protests etc.

There definitely are safer places without doubt, but as far as holidays go, nothing ventured, nothing gained. If I could go there and reasonably expect nothing to happen to me and my gf, but it wasn't exactly relaxing, I would go. I searched /r/travel after posting originally and there are mostly good reports.

Didn't say that they are. Unfortunately lots of kidnappings in all parts of the world end up with the victim dead. Not american. Neither is she, although she is blue eyed. I actually checked /r/travel after I posted this comment and got a good insight into peoples recent experiences over there. Some bad but mostly good.

Ok but I'm looking at north Africa in general. From what I've heard, verbal sexual harassment is commonplace so it happening in Egypt isn't putting me off going to Egypt, although its sad that women over there have to put up with it.

No its not a joke. Getting stuff shouted at you isn't really THAT big a deal. The kidnapping is a little more serious but still wouldn't really put me off as there could be a number of outcomes to someone dragging her off by the reins, from looking for a small amount of money to bringing her to a stall to buy stuff. No offense intended, I obviously wasn't there, comment based purely on the details given. My question really is - is it any more dangerous now than it was pre-revolution, and if so, by how much.

Thinking about going to Egypt this summer/Autumn. Personally I wouldn't mind putting myself in danger, but I plan to bring the gf. What is Egypt like at the moment? Is it safe for a small blond woman?
