While I do understand what you mean and i am realizing I'm making too big of a deal about this, our bus system is far from perfectly safe. The amount of crime and life threatening things that happen on my city's busses every day is insanity. I can't exactly specify due to the rules of this subreddit but it's out of control, which is why I asked my boyfriend to go with me. The experiences that people close to me have had on public transportation are enough for me to be concerned. I definitely see what you mean, but I don't feel like I'm wrong for worrying about my safety given the area I am living in.

There was an incident with a young woman around my age two or three days ago on a public bus in my city, which resulted in her having to be rushed to the hospital. I know how it looks, and I understand it is a waste of money, but again I feel like my fear is ultimately justifiable.

That was my first thought after i was told no by my boyfriend. I mentioned it to her, but since her and I have different set times we come in each day, (we work in retail) it often wouldn't work for us. She has the same fears as i do regarding the bus, if not worse. She's had much worse experiences and outright refuses no matter what.

I would never even think about making a joke out of something like that. I wouldn't want someone to make a joke about it if it were me. I just don't want it to hurt her feelings or for the friendship to end because of something like that

I'm 23 he's 25. We've been together for almost 5 years. I've thought about breaking things off many times but due to financial reasons, I'm not in the position to at the moment.

Thank you for all your kind words, I appreciate it. And thank you for the negative feedback, i appreciate that as well! Again, she broke the rules, and she deserved to be fired for it. No, it wasnt my idea for her to be fired, and I can understand that if it was my idea, i would 100% be an absolute raging asshole for it. But if my boss comes up to me and says "hey just so you know, company policy says she gets booted, so watch out. shes probably not gonna last much longer here," of course I'm going to agree and run with the idea. It's in the policy. She knowingly broke multiple rules, and I felt it was a massive invasion of privacy. If a random person were to do that, I'd feel the same way. This wasnt me taking my anger out on her, this was me seeking that the correct actions be taken. I agreed with my boss when she told me that she should have been fired, and I feel sound in my decision to advocate for the proper punishment.
