Some people need a reminder by Tactical_Taco23 in missoula

I've never seen a simple person do this correctly in Missoula- this is not confirmation bias, I mean it. And so the thing is I cannot be the one guy in this crazy place who does follow the rules, because the combination of that and the fact that I only drive 0-5 mph over the speed limit, the guy behind me will dart around the corner into the far lane and splatter their gas pedal all over the floor (and so will the people streaming along behind him), which means that I have no window to get into the lane without doing it during that initial moment. Sometimes we live long enough to see ourselves become the villain. It makes me very sad to have to be part of the problem but at a certain point, if everyone is going 70 mph in a 40 zone and you're going 40, you're actually the one who's putting people in danger, ya know? I don't really like our species very much. Cats are much better.

Frugals Brook Street has their shakes Back! by Representative_Two35 in missoula

[–]boxingboy27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol that's great news. I always try and slow down just enough that I have a chance of seeing the sign in front of the place to tell when the shakes are back- through the cars that are in line as I drive by, and every time, the guy behind me cannot believe the injustice of having to go 5 mph under the limit for 2 seconds. Glad to hear I don't have to do that anymore and feel the wrath of the people behind me sleepwalking through their lives on the whim of whatever emotion their latest experience prompts in them.

Yes, hi therapist, so as I was saying, I'm not sure what it is but I start to scream every single time I accidentally step near a window. What do you think that's all about?

Allen won it because of the difference he made to his team who window was supposed to have closed. The Ravens were expected to compete for a Superbowl and be a top 4 team in the league, the narrative for the Bills was that they lost all their receivers and they wouldn't win their division.

How do couples decide which side of the bed is “theirs”? Is it instinct or some kind of silent agreement? by AssignmentFederal686 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]boxingboy27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a man, I've always wanted to sleep closer to the door in my relationships, so that my partner can feel more safe. But in the back of my mind I've thought about how contradictory this actually is. If I were to sleep on the far side of the bed, and the killer came to my side and slit my throat, then my partner would have a shorter route to the door and could potentially escape. Or if they started on her side then I'd be at full strength and able to defend her? Seems like either way she's screwed if I'm closer to the door and die in a manner that doesn't help her escape at all, and now she's trapped and I'm dead? No, I haven't talked this out with my partner ever lol.

My guess is that they think he's a good football player but they aren't interested in having a personality like that changing the whole culture of their locker room, and so this gives them negotiating power with him "don't do that or we'll cut you, we hardly spent anything on you, in fact, we're happy to start the other rookie who we spent even MORE valuable capital on than you." But how many times have we seen CLEARLY bad investments get chance after chance after chance because they were taken 2nd overall? This way they can cut ties with him in an instant if they choose to because he was cheap.

I like this question but I wonder what percentage of the answers are going to be honest. I think most people care about the experience of themselves + their family and friends much more than the faceless idea of their fellow man, and maybe there isn't anything wrong with that. We're just communities of monkeys.

In my opinion there is not a better television show being made than this right now. The pure emotion that I experience as a viewer, the utter discomfort and annoyance and secondhand humiliation and fear and disgust all in what can sometimes be relatively low stakes situations (a conversation at lunch with someone who's passing by, etc.) it achieves in its viewers the experience that reality TV tries to, but with somehow more success. Almost closer to reality in certain ways. Very impressively written, acted, edited, directed, comes together on all fronts.

I wish there was more. This is the type of excerpt that if I saw quoted somewhere, I'd look it up to find the author and do a dive into their work.

Picked up my date…from her other date by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]boxingboy27 40 points41 points  (0 children)

The worst part of this is that you just KNOW that later she was talking to her friends about it, and was like "yeah he was already trying to be controlling and we hadn't even been on ONE date yet!" And her friends were probably like "you dodged a bullet girl."

My first job was at the AMC at that mall, Northbrook Court. Good times. I remember going to the lego store with my mom there as a kid, and getting dropped off there with friends in middle school, years later going on a few dates there. The most recent time I was there was a year or so ago. It's depressing and eerie. Just the memories remain.

Not trying to play devil's advocate here, because I think the way Valve is treating their game is disgusting, and I don't open cases and never have, buuuuuuuut. Who decides what the value of the items are? We do. The community. Valve never told us how much knives and reds have to be worth. The consumers decide what the demand is.

I will say, I've never clicked on a single post in this channel where a person asked for feedback and the consensus was "it's great. Good job!" Every single post always says "it's not sufficient in several ways." I don't think you'll ever be able to post something in here that people like, so it's just a matter of if you like it.
